Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

And still they cannot actually run a website that actually works and looks professional....

...

What browser and system are you using? Good connection?

Looks like a bit of loading fail, which is not necessarily the website's fault, but it could be... beats me, I never tried this part of the website before.

Velocity is very broken for me.

VA's tech needs to be burn to the ground and rebuild so there's no legacy ANYTHING from the DJ days.

They could even just get Virgin America to share their website code/whatever with them: https://www.virginamerica.com

So the main website won't let me do Y on the way there, and J on the return. Mobile website will, but refuses to accept promo codes. Sigh... all too difficult.

Their booking options for Canberra - Perth is shocking too. 4, 5 hour layovers in Melbourne or Sydney. VA needs to start a direct service or improve online booking options!

Thanks, but I prefer the layover than taking the risk and getting a coughpy old Qantas 737 on CBR-PER.

Qantas don't have any of their coughpy old 737's they were all retired in February of this year!

Easier to take your business elsewhere than expect a company to change their process/website/features/benefits etc etc

I guess the referral was about the older 738's without the PIFE etc.

I think DJVA is alluding to the fact that QF will use a 737 on that route; even if it is a 738 (let alone a refurbished one), "no one" wants to fly a 737 on trans-continental, and maybe not in Y.

I wonder if VA would start a A330 direct service from CBR (I assume the airport can handle such an aircraft).

I did a sample search for CBR/PER, and I managed to find options that have only 2 hour connections. That said, IIRC VA doesn't have the schedule out of CBR to SYD or MEL (more true for the latter), so I can see some long layovers are necessary depending on seat availability.

A bit of QFism slipping into the VA engine: during my dummy search, normally when you view the flight matrix, the date tabs at the top show the cheapest price for that day. Only issue is that the price shown on some tabs isn't actually the cheapest flight option you can select on that day.

That, and also I selected one option and the price on the right hand side ends up looking $50 cheaper than the price displayed in the matrix....

Gday

I have been messing around with the Velocity website for ages and cant work out how to book a one way award seat from Abu Dhabi to Sydney. Is it even possible? It is possible to book a one way originating from Sydney but seemingly not the other way around. Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

It's not possible on line I believe. You can do it through the guest contact centre.

Welcome to AFF! Enjoy.

This has probably been mentioned before, but searching for reward seats. Makes you log in. Fine. If you go to modify search, it then forces you to log in again, and then is kind enough to clear your previous search data so you have to enter it all again. Just a Sunday night rant...

Hey be patient! It's only been like that for 18 months or so...

The VA IBE is currently down (mobile bookings still able to be made) for scheduled maintenance, I have heard that there will be a few good modifications come tomorrow :)

Yep there are few changes to the look and feel coming - lets hope they actually work for a change.

The most notable change I can see is that economy and business fares are now displayed together when searching for bookings - there is no longer a drop down on the home page to choose econ, prem or bus.

But... business saver has vanished from the IBE and the fares overview page. Make it cleaner but I hope it wasn't a devious way to raise all the prices.
