Has anyone else noted the irony of their advertising campaign for the Billion Points give-away promotion?

Perhaps they do take notice of our comments on this thread after all. Shame they can't be bothered to take action to get rid of the intern.
I was going to post the same thing Kevro, but I thought "why bother". It ain't changing quickly and this tongue in cheek quip shows they know they're quite poor but will soldier on regardless of the torment imposed upon their followers!

I passed QF gold and marching toward QF plat. I wonder if they realise there are flyers just like me.

Another data point. Online checkin for CBR-MEL, selected my preferred seat (WP benefits so extra leg room at no cost) save and continue to finalise checkin process.

Boarding pass appears with seat 22A. Thanks VA, your site sucks.

At the lounge I ask if any exit row seats are available? Middle only, not keen so ask if 22B can be blocked? Sure, no problem.

Board via back stairs for the first time in (ever ?) and find that row 22, my row, is the only one in 8-10 rows with any pax in a B seat !!! Thanks VA, your customer service is awesome. DYKWIA? :)

We found similar two weeks ago; middle seat occupied (by a Gold no less) despite aisle seats being free almost the full length of the plane, and we were back in row 9. VA have some weird seating issues going on.

Pretty ordinary. Why didn't you do an on-line seat selection to somewhere nearer the pointy bit? I must admit, I've never had an issue with seat selection not sticking at booking time, but I also have only flown with them once or twice since the xy advent! Doesn't sound promising based on your account of the situation.

Would I be correct in assuming you two chose window and aisle, hopeful of a free middle? If so, every time Lisa and I try that, there always seems to be a middle person pop up ... almost as if VA know the ploy and are determined to thwart it!

As a Platinum I recently traveled with my wife and had the same experience!
 
Have a seat assigned 27F. Use seat selection to move to 24D. Click through and get successful change message...confirmation page says 22F! Go back to beginning and am still in 27F. *slow hand clap*

I called the GCC yesterday as the seat changes from row 5 to 3 were showing as confirmed on the change seat page but back to the original seat when I went back into the booking. Was advised that once a seat was selected the only people who could change it were the GCC, according to the person I spoke to it's always been that way. Never had an issue changing seats before as WP.

Haha we did, but we were on separate bookings so no way VA would know.

Never had this problem before either, but that seems to be the new reality. Had this problem with 2 different bookings in the past week, as did my wife (also WP).

Why? Because time between booking and flying was <12 hrs and I completed check-in in the Uber between home and the airport. Also, flight time of less than an hour reduces overall care factor. My post was just pointing out another example of VA's online majesty.
 
Also, in that email I posted a screen grab of up thread, did anyone notice that I have 120 SC this period (since 2 May) but need 705 to requal WP (by 2 May 2018)... so 825 SC is now required for VA WP ? or VA just can't add up to 800 :)
