Vinomofo Wine Deals

You might want to be a little careful here Jason. Vinomofo can now identify your user profile on their system.
The little lady I speak to at VM clearly knows who I am - she has quoted some posts - they keep a close eye and I think they might know much more than you think.

No biggie IMHO - nothing to hide - nothing to fear.

Art Of War The General Shiraz 2012

Has anyone tried VM own label?
Crafted by Kym Teusner. Possibly Teusner Albert in Vinomofo's label?

yesiree....you have to say one of the best names out there, and if no one knows the reason for the name, it's the red wine marks left on your top lip when you are knocking back a beautiful red. And from memory, i had this kangarilla at a regular six week get together with two other lads, one who is sadly dying of motor neurone. peter can still sink em as we did two fridays ago for a 3 hour lunch that turned into a 10 hour afternoon and indian takeway night. probably had the kangarilla about 6 months ago, one of Russells bring a longs and it was really nice, hence i got my six. that same night i think i have previuosly mentioned, we had 2 botts of tomich hillside 2012. Just stunning. So I am hoping the i777 is the 50 down to 15er out now, as well as last week. Reads like it is. So considering the pricing of both, you would expect the 50er down to 15 to be at least twice as good. I will let you know soon folks. How good could it be if the flagship of Tomich is a bleeding Pinot.? I am hoping that's it will rock my socks off like a present for christsmas did, a new zealand - normally don't touch anything from there - mt difficulty pinot 2012, over fifty bucks but it was exquiste - luckily !!

never thought of that segue jason.....i only got put onto Tuesners a few years ago but for me, the 2012 tuesner riebke is probably one of the best 10 wines i have had in my life. talking about the 2012 vintage earlier, the 2013 riebke was ok, but lacks the finesse, and the incredible complexity of the 2012. so i would give the 2012 a 9.5easy, and the 2013 a 7.25.

Kym Teusner makes a huge amount of wine for a huge no of people, under contract or otherwise. So no I don't think it's the Albert, though I've yet to find one of Kyms wines I don't like. Having said that I think he spreading himself too thin and it's hard to keep the quality up. If you like Kyms wine have a look on Glug (yes that a real name for a wine site).

The General must be "something" for Vinomofo charging $30 when for that sum can get rrp $60 upwards labelled wines.

My money is that it is Witchmount Estate Cabernet - VM just had the Witchmount Shiraz and Chardonnay on deals. I reckon that is why they don't say it is from Sunbury region, just Victoria. The alcohol matches etc. Any other suggestions?

People who dismiss 2011 are missing out on some good wine. If you talk to the winemakers they will tell you it wasnt a bad year, but a difficult one. No winemaker is going to release a poor wine, and we've had some absolute gems with 2011 on the label.

I agree and disagree...

Some excellent wines from 2011. However, this bit isn't always true:

"No winemaker is going to release a poor wine"

Sometimes winemakers (or accountants?) will release sub-par wines to clear what they have, as well as simply keep some cash flow coming in. Remember winemakers need to pay expenses in bad years as well as good...

Good winemakers tend not to make their premium labels (unless they have been able to garner some good fruit for them).

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

I didn't go (being based in the wrong city and country).

But I did jump on one of those cases :)

Good on ya VM! Good publicity.
