Yeah I did post it there, so what? No referral links there.

Firstly, you were not forthright about not posting to OzB. And secondly you weren't able to post a referral link due to low votes on previous deals (all VM, all with referral when you can), which is probably why you didn't. Your referral links have been removed by mods in the past for breaching this rule.

My post was to share my personal opinion, not enforce a 'rule' on people. I don't think people who leech information then post it for referral credit should be encouraged personally. I wouldn't hold that view if I saw an active, contributing member. We're all seeing VM grow, and wines sell out quickly. It only gets worse when it's posted on a site with high traffic like OzB.

I've seen early VM posts on OzB that had zero effort (i.e. they post the deal and don't bother with basic research) and just in for referrals. There are a few frequent VM deal posters that one feels are just posting for referrals (even the deals aren't great IMO and they still post it). I don't agree with posting for referrals but it doesn't really bother me that others are doing it, I just don't upvote those deals and let the mods take care of it.

Personally I don't have a problem with deals being posted on OzB or anywhere else. It just means more wines get sold out (which is bad if you're too slow on the trigger) but the upside is that VM are more likely to get more deals (and possibly better ones) since they can show they have the market and the proven record of selling out all their stock. Sharing is caring ;-)

Received a carton of the big yellow coughcat yesterday and cracked a bottle. First impressions were that it was bad. Sniffing the neck of the bottle I had an overpowering impression of sunscreen (!), which took me completely by surprise. On pouring it improved, but still not my favourite drop. Having read earlier in the thread that this one can improve overnight we set it aside and tried again tonight with some lamb shanks. Muuuuuch better. Much smoother with better flavour and quite drinkable. I think I might hide this one in the back of the cupboard for a few years and give it a hearty decant and it'll become something great. But first maybe I'll crack another bottle to make sure.

I've seen the FB advertising for a big sale on Friday, anybody have goodies they're hoping will appear?

I'm hoping for the Maverick Twins!

My Glenlofty Shiraz Viognier Rocked up today, and I have to thank those that recommended it! It is different to what I have been used to (although I may have never had Viognier before) but I really like it! bargain for the price! I was almost put off by the 2011 Cabernet that I got from Glenlofty, but I am very happy I gave them another go! Cheers!
I'm quietly hoping that whatever the big deal is coming out today is either not as great as they are beating up about it, or way out of my price range... I've just paid off my credit card out of my fortnightly pay, and it looks like I'm going to be spending $4-500 on textbooks for uni this semester....

I also tried this last night and yep completely different taste which my wife and I both enjoyed especially knowing the price we paid.

A few pinot noir deals but generally the same as I've been seeing the last few months.

Worth waiting for a black market pinot noir deal?

This looks interesting - thought it was Twins but the RR for this mof_ CONTRABAND DEAL GMS 2013 is $18 - the Twins I purchase back in May had a RR of $25 - any ideas?
