Vinomofo Wine Deals

Made purchase in store at Kemenys last month. Kemenys frequently has great offers in stores that it doesn't list on its website.

Received email from CRACKA on 14/8/14 for the Gemtree and didn't purchase:

"s a result we've been working extra-hard, scouring the vineyards of Australia looking for the very best thing to grab your attention. And then we got a call from our friends at 5 star rated Gemtree in McLaren Vale, about an export order that never made the boat...It’s the Sacredtree by Gemtree Masterpiece Shiraz 2013 - a luscious, generous South Australian Shiraz that sells for $22 around the world and we normally sell for $16.50...score it for $99/dozen ($8.25/bottle)!"

It was obviously a good deal and sold quickly.

I can't clarify any further, but I do suggest that you keep your eyes open and act quickly!

Thanks for clarifying. I'm now subscribed to cracka, but the Kemenys in store offers are of no use, since they don't have any stores in Melb, where I am.

The mof_ SECRET DEAL Shiraz Cabernet 2009 listed today for $38 a bottle and described as:

"Get ready to sit down... an iconic producer has agreed to share their flagship wine with us (and you) at 60% off. This wine is the top example of what all of their other wines aspire to be, their pride and joy, their baby. An up and coming icon for SA too, all richness and balance. And at this price, this is well and truly a Vinomofo exclusive. Made by an iconic SA winery, this is a super-premium flagship red that would sit proudly in any wine lover's trophy room, easily the talking point of any dinner conversation. Powerful and concentrated, this wine doesn't ask for your approval, it commands you to drink it. Loaded with dark black fruits, olive tapenade and creamy chocolate, it's opulent, luscious and lingering. Thankfully, unlike some of the more interesting tasting notes we've been reading on Facebook from you mof_s, this has no "hint of shame" or "spiced nuance of nostalgia". No no, this is the aroma of picking up the phone on the fifth ring of the Channel 7 Cash Cow (I imagine), mixed with the flavour of vindication in the moment Joffrey finally carked it in Game of Thrones, and the balancing force of watching puppy videos on Youtube. Suffice to say, each time you crack this it's a complex and magnificiently joyful ocassion. This is a big wine, kind of a big deal (yes, Ron Burgundy has this on his mahogony bookshelf) and an even bigger secret. Get your hands on it now."

Is very likely the 2009 K1 by Geoff Hardy Tzimmukin Shiraz Cabernet.

Great price. Geoff Hardy wines are always quality.

Just purchased 2 cases.

I also bought a case :)

Kemenys is a great independent store for wine. Sometimes cheap but always something different to try (Got 2006 Magnums of Chalambar for $25 last month. Bought everyone the store had!). If in Sydney I'd highly recommend a visit. I've never left the store without a full trolley.

Have you tried (or been able to get hold of) their current two for one - Serafino Sorrento Shiraz?

Not seen it on any dockets, and not been in Dans for a couples of weeks.

Great example. Missed out on that one.

Just wish I got more. They sold out by end of month.

I took a punt on the 93 point Shiraz yesterday. Interesting to see what I end up with.

The Victorian one? Would love to know myself. Yet to take the punt (as per others, too much grog at my place right now!)

Some years ago I had Kemenys send wine to ADL.

Some years ago I had Kemenys send wine to ADL.

Pretty sure they will ship it Australia wide - they certainly take out large full page ads in Melbourne newspapers and you can order off their website, but Dr Ralph noted that the best specials are in store only.

I bought some of the SA Shiraz for $10.50 in the end of run sale. Was tempted by the 93 point Victorian, but feel that the $7.50 wines, no matter how good, are generally quaffers, while the $10 Black Market wines have more substance. Would be interested to know what the Victorian Shiraz was. Someone suggested that the SA Shiraz could be Schild Reserve, and the WA Shiraz Bellarmine. Not too sure about either, not enough to go on. Couldn't find any reference to the Schild Reserve getting 4.5 stars Winestate. Will wait and see what I get!

Victorian Shiraz is the Six Foot Six Shiraz, same as the pinot

Interesting - via a referral delivery has been arranged for $74 all up.

If it as smooth as the SFS Pinot then it shouldn't be too bad, even as a Quaffer ...
