I have posted just now to the Nice Wines thread on my initial views on the Mitolo Cantiniere. Is it a Fo success or a Fo (faux) Pa? For me, it's a Fo success (and you can read why on the other thread).

That Avatar has been bothering me for a while - is it a wine glass? Or is it the middle region of the fairer sex?! It's like the Mitolo - is it barrel one from the Vale or barrel two from the Vale ...?

Shiraz lovers, please let me know if you detect the double child in the Mitolo.

Hadn't realised that it was actually on sale again (at least for the next 12 hours) at $9.90 a bottle. Have had a couple of Capel Vale Cabernets in the past (but not this one) and enjoyed them. Given the mixed reviews and my heaving stockpiles, I will restrain myself on this occasion.

At under a tenner I found it to be a decent quaffer Cabernet. Not up there with the better Cabernet's but certainly not bad.

A friend (gotta love referral bonuses ;-) ) who bought some of the Capel Vale and loved it brought some to dinner. I found it pleasant and very approachable but a bit one-dimensional and not for the long haul. Certainly good value at the price, but not a patch on the Amelia Park or Glenlofty. Vive la difference.
