Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals
I am going to wait for the reviews or pick it up through a mixed case. I thought the Glenlofty Vineyard Pyrenees Shiraz 2012 was nice, but the oak was making it a bit green at the end of the palate - and that's the bit you remember, unfortunately.
Shame, as the smell and mid palate were very good for a wine under $9. This is serious knit-picking, I know, particularly when it's only $8.50 a bottle. And nothing I have had in the last few years comes close to the taste experience for that price point, except:
I am looking forward to the first reviews, and, of course - because it's a Glenlofty - a wine review poem from the literary genius of Beefarmer.
More Lofty. Sigh... maybe I should.
=(

- the Jeannerat Westward We Went 2013 (a Cab blend), which - after some air time - was a lovely wine, and better than the Glenlofty Shiraz; and
- the Glenlofty Single-Vineyard Pyrenees Shiraz Viognier (which was a little less sharp at the end and slightly better than the straight Shiraz).
