Vinomofo Wine Deals

Opened a bottle of the Braydun Hills Cellar Reserve Shiraz 2008 from last week (regular labelled deal) - thoroughly recommend. Would buy another dozen without thinking
Thanks, very interesting, they also have a Sparkling Shiraz I have been considering!

Thanks Buzzard - i've been hanging around for a while now! :)

Oh - the Touriga blend that was a black market case a few times in the last couple of weeks - it's great. Give it some air for an hour and it is a great drop.

Any ideas on the BLACK MARKET DEAL Shiraz 2008 for $20.40 (very little to go on):

Black Market Deal Shiraz 2008 - Red Wine

I'm a little surprised by the drink by date being 2016. Seems very unusual for a premium wine.

It does seem rather short. I went for the Barossa 2010 Shiraz for $25 a bottle. No idea what that is either but I fancied a flutter :)

Two of the secret deals I have purchased lately are the sixfootsix 2012 shiraz ($8.50 inc freight) and the Fox Gordon 2012 Eight Uncles Shiraz ($9.00 inc freight).

Whilst the sixfootsix is not a bad wine, I must say that I am quite impressed with the Fox and would have no hesitation in recommending it to you - just don't blame me if you don't like it.

What you meant to say is "If you don't like it, send it my way" ;) hehe

Any thoughts on the current Black Market McLaren Vale Cabernet, $40RR for $144 per case?

I just tried the Chain of Ponds Amadeus Cab Sav 2011, the Mystery 2011 Adl Hills Cab Sav in the last Black Market sale. It is is an odd cabernet style, soft, not much tannin, lots of fruit up front and very little of anything on the back end. Not altogether unpleasant, but not to my taste and not what I would think of as a Cab Sav. One bottle in a mixed case would be interesting but certainly don't want a dozen, so will be sending them back.

Was thinking I might just swap for the current Cabernet...

Well, sold out now, so this advice may be coming too late, but I had this one pegged as Haselgrove Protector.

Has anyone sampled the Mitolo Jester Shiraz yet?

I have had the Jester, I do recall enjoying it but it was a few weeks ago now so can't really tell you much about it other than I was not offended by it.

On another note I just purchased the mixed case Black Market deal, 2 each of 3 reds and 3 whites. Works out at $8.68 per bottle inc freight so sounds ok to me. Better still I'm sharing the case with a friend.
