Vinomofo Wine Deals

A 2010 was advertised but you got a 2012? If so you've paid $2.50 a bottle more than you should have, as the 2012 sold for $22.50 a bottle about 6 weeks ago.

It's a shame the description given by Vinomofo didn't match the wine at the time. Based on the description given it could not have been the 2010 Hannah's Swing. Vinomofo are becoming increasingly misleading and deceptive in the information they provide. This certainly isn't the first time they've provided incorrect information about a black market wine. When it had occurred previously I had thought it may have been accidental, but this cannot be the case as it has now occurred several times.

I thought it did match the description of the previous 2012 vintage ( which I purchased) but at $25 instead of $22.50 which is why I mentioned it could of been an older vintage perhaps. I wish I had of known as I would of paid the extra for the 2010.

Anyone tried the Poonawatta 1880 Shiraz 2009 they currently have for $39.90 a bottle? I've drank a few Poonawatta wines in the past and have been to a wine dinner where their wines were showcased (I think I've posted about these in the nice wines thread!), but not this one. They make great wine.

I have, a very lovely wine!

Anyone else get on the Braydun Hill Shiraz 2008 or the 2006 Black Market Cab Sav? Bummed I missed out on both but not sure if these have popped up in the past and what people think.

I'm a big fan of the braydun hills shiraz, liked it more than many others from vinomofo with higher point ratings

Would love to know what people think the new black market deals reds are? Semi-premium wine at 70% off gets my attention :)

OK I'm back!

Successfuly made it through September with no VM orders (only deliveries !) but now have the problem that my Kitchener 200 bottle is almost full and my Vintec Penfolds 36 one hasn't shown up...

Maybe I should go home and start making some more room.

You could be right on this being the King Louis. Seems to tick a few of the boxes. However I haven't seen any KL 2011 vintage unless they skipped a year or are releasing the 2011 and 2012 at the same time.

Hi- I've just joined! - Have been following the VM deals for a while: It's fun trying to work out what's on offer - Interestingly, even Bert at Winestar is now offering a similar "Quality unknown wine" from time to time! - BTW, I've just taken delivery of last week's WA 2010 Cab Merlot: Willoughby Park - I'll let you know how it goes down.

Welcome Learned_One.

Curious move - Dan Murphy's has moved into the Black Market/hidden label market place.

Today they have offered:

Secret Selection Shiraz

Mmm, interesting. Many seem to be doing this now. Hookey doesn't seem to go much on it.

Almost certainly this is the:

Gemtree Obsidian Shiraz

Mmm interesting. Quite a few are doing these hidden deals lately. As far as the wine goes, anyone tried it? Hookey doesn't seem to enthused about it.

I visited Gemtree in December last year. Nice cellar door (with an exceptionally poorly designed driveway entrance), but I wasn't impressed with their wines.
