Vinomofo Wine Deals

Curious move - Dan Murphy's has moved into the Black Market/hidden label market place.

Today they have offered:

Secret Selection Shiraz

Mmm, interesting. Many seem to be doing this now. Hookey doesn't seem to go much on it.

Almost certainly this is the:

Gemtree Obsidian Shiraz

Mmm interesting. Quite a few are doing these hidden deals lately. As far as the wine goes, anyone tried it? Hookey doesn't seem to enthused about it.

Nice detective work, Rocket09!

It was ok? You're not selling it! I'd want at least good for $30!
Totally agree, there is plenty of good wine around at good prices, not to bother with wines that are just OK and the only plus being they are cheap.

I wouldn't call $30 cheap! Suspect you mean cheaper than it should be though.

99% sure the contraband shiraz is the 2012 vintage of Schild Estate Shiraz. It was a great deal last year for the 2011 at $6, i hope the better vintage makes this an equally good deal

Schild's website list the alcohol content as 14.5% and Vinomofo's is 14.7%. Everything else seems to match though (including the 3 gold medals).

I bought a case of the 2011 and it was a bargain for $6. I was hoping the 2012 would be the same price but since it is a better vintage it would make sense for it to cost a bit more.

Strange - the schild site says 14.5%, but I've found other sites that have 14.7%! I guess Schild are trying to throw us off the scent...
I've still got some of this in the cellar, and it's great value for money. I think I might get a case... just so I can compare it to the 2011, you know? ;) Purely scientific.
