Not sure there are any other biodynamic producers in Red Hill? Either way, the terrior alone should make for a decent drop
Does anybody know what todays Black Market Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon 2014 is? I was hoping it might be FG bros and sisters. Thanks
Cabernet Sauvignon | Coonawarra | 2014 | $35 | $10.50 | 13/12/2015 | Geoff Hardy Pertaringa Regional Series 2014 | #6940 | Red 5 Star |
I also think it's the Prancing Horse. Location (Red Hill South), viticultural guidance (Pascal Marchand is a winemaker), biodynamic etc. all seem to match up. Only discrepancy is the RRP
Probably this one, since it says it's been up before:

I found many 2009 south Aussie wines to be better that the 2010's, but I await my fox Gordon king Louis in lieu of this one. You can't have everything......oh yes you can.2009 Leconfield Cabernet is mighty tempting! Got a fair bit of 2010 and 2012 in the cellar, but no 2009. HH gave it 4.5 stars also.

Thanks for posting - I have been a bit slack with VM of late.
Price is okay given the bottle age. I would be interested to know where it has been stored (cellar door, or a 3rd party).
Notice the RRP is a bit inflated by the cellar door price for the aged ones.

The email I got was a $75 McLaren Vale shiraz down to $35??
Noticed a couple of Marchand and Burch village level red Burgandies on offer in the VIM after dark sale. Pretty sharp pricing, but not sure I'm convinced, especially with the 2011 Vosne Romanee. Umming and uhhing about the 2012 Gevrey Chambertin though
Maybe clearing some stock as part of the buy-out by Brown Brothers.
Halliday lists it in wine companion as Margaret River Frankland River shiraz. 2009 vintage was first decent vintage as noted by your cellaring notation checking back on other wineries seems 2009 onwards is better vintages from WA. I will pass
note that Brown Brothers only bought the Innocent Bystander brand (including moscato) - not Known Pleasures, Mea Culpa, Giant Steps, vineyards, winery, etc.
Agree. Definitely not a bargain. I bought a case of the 2010 about 12 months ago and paid less. I too would love to know the storage history.
Came direct from the winery and has been stored by Leconfield, should be no worries there at all
note that according to langtons, 2007 and 2009 vintages are rated the same: 9 for Great Southern Shiraz, 10 for Margaret River Shiraz
https://www.langtons.com.au/media/pdf/VintageChart.pdf
for Forest Hill Vineyard Block 9 Shiraz (Great Southern), Halliday rates 2007 96pts, 2009 94pts

for Cape Mentelle Shiraz (Margaret River), Halliday rates 2007 96pts and 2009 95pts, Winefront gives 96 and 95, Jeremy Oliver 94 and 95

Huon Hooke also preferred the 2007 Marchand & Burch Shiraz over 2009
