Are you talking about the Bartondale Cab Sauv 2012? If so, I had a different experience. For me it was the standout wine in the mixed 6 of 95-96 pointers that included the candles and mythology.

I am only partially enamoured and re-enthused since the competition you mentioned seemed to be a little b grade.

Not sure - I have not ordered anything from the Fo since mid April but I do have 2 x referral credits waiting to be used, maybe these worked against me in this round of handouts

I haven't ordered in a while nor do I have any credits :(

Fair point, but i suppose that just makes the bart the 'diamond in the rough.' That might be a bit over-the-top on the analogy, but I thought the bart was quality.

Hope so. I have the opposite experience- am a little over shiraz recently so rediscovering my cabernet roots!
The Blue Pyrenees Shiraz of yore was an absolute belter so I'm relying on this pedigree to make my decision-but still find it hard to make the shift from shiraz to cab sav myself...

I've got a bottle of the 2011 churchview Bartondale cab sav from a mixed six from last year. Planning on laying it down for a few years because I've also tried the 2012 and it was far too young in my view. Clearly a good wine just too young for quaffing at this stage.

I also got the mixed 6 you are referring to. Is the Jack Estate Mythology Shiraz a bit underwhelming then? Shame I was looking forward to that...

Well the Clare shiraz has a typo at the bottom, looks like they did a cut and paste of the winery also being a riesling producer. Which, cuts it down to, er.... doesn't cut it down at all. ;-)

Dammit I'm one of them! Well nearly, the Jack Shiraz snuck in between them and I'm nearly ready to give up on the Little Berries. A lot of on-line merchants have their share of made-for-the-retailer wines on constant rotation, Winebox Warehouse is certainly one of them, not sure about GWD (who were incidentally offering the Olssen's The Six for $13.99 today!!) I'm sceptical about the whole concept because on the rare occasion I've hit the buy button the wines have been beyond average, mostly imbedded in mixed cases....

edit: just opened a second bottle of Little Berries and there's a touch of the Coolabah cask coming through-surely not a GOOD thing!?!

Oh dear, that's funny then that VM have consciously decided to showcase the Little Berries in this "half known / half mystery" deal - https://vinomofo.com/wines/mixed-case/elite-six

Look at that sneaky little f-er peaking out from the back right! What does that say for the mystery ones if the Berries made the list to show off...
