Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

This blackmarket 2015 Heathcote Shiraz https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-deal-shiraz-2015-87e0b515 seems to be a Gapsted Limited Release Heathcote Shiraz https://www.gapstedwines.com.au/products/limited-release-heathcote-shiraz-2015-gapsted-wines All details match except for alcohol volume? If it is, anybody have any comments to offer?

This and the prior Limited Release Durif 2014/2015 seem to be "made for Vinomofo" wines, the Durif 2015 had "LR Vinomofo Durif 2015" on the side of the box. I thought the Durif 2015 was actually quite good.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Just cracked hg15#6 , so I have 6 left...

I thought this ( the homeless grapes project) was a really nice exercise by the 'fo : I was pleased to buy and quite pleased with my plonk when it (eventually) arrived.
It's quite drinkable and a nice talking piece when folks read the label.
Fast forward to this year and it seems the new 'fo way is trumps
The wine , which was picked "yesterday" , is already bottled and for sale.
I think I will pass…..

The one offered now is the 2016 vintage, picked last year. ;-)

Any know this one?

Churchview ‘St Johns’ Margaret River Cabernet Blend 2015: The rest of the blend is malbec, merlot and petit verdot. In short a typical Bordeaux mix. Complex nose giving great pleasure and changing with each sniff. Very poised on its journey every step one of elegant grace, this beauty has class, 97 points and value at $40

Have you tried this before mr. Bigot?

Sorry, no, it's pretty much a new release I think. VM have had a number of the Churchview Bartondale wines before, this may be the first of the St Johns range for them.

I'm tempted but given the extremely limited space I have in my cellar I'd love to hear if anyone has experience. Looks like the previous vintages got 96 and 95 pts and special value star from Halliday, but other reviews seem few and far between

I boomed on it, will let you know how it goes.

I've only had their Cab Sav and the St John's Zinfandel but both were excellent in their own way especially at VM knock-down prices, I'm confident you won't feel cheated when it arrives but let us know your thoughts.....cheers, W&D

The stars have aligned for me and I feel like the kid who ate a big box of easter eggs. I have not paid for a single wine since last November, nor bought anything from the 'Fo in that time. I have done a little of Dr Ralphs on-selling to very appreciative folks. Sold at cost of course some of my purchases over the last 2 years and with a relaxing night in, I thought I'd visit the AFF Vinomofo site that I have probably seen three times since. Thankyou so much RB for pointing out the St Johns Cab blend, a variant I have not had. I have bought about 5 assorted cases of their wines and all are supurb. Not just good, but extremely good. I could barely hit the buy button fast enough after a bit of due diligence and then I got another two surprises. Free freight which I wasn't banking on, and a $25 credit sitting there. $80 for 6 certainly brings a smile to the dial. I went back to my wine notes and 28th march 2015 and 3rd april 2015 had me enjoying the St Johns GSM 2012 which was quite good and the incredible St Johns wild fermented chardonnay 2014. Oh the memories come flooding back as to the potential of the St Johns range.

Timing is everything as they say.

Did VM change the price? Now $17.50, 50% off. Thought I saw it at ~59% off or about $16 a bottle.
