Redman used to be a favourite but I had many issues with the corks...will be interested to hear what you think of it
I agree very much about the Redman corks- that is why I pointed out this release has screwcaps.

Tasted first bottle tonight. Nice. Big/dark. I have just ordered another doz. Excellent value for the money in my opinion.

@vmile I had looked at this one a few days back and had figured out what it was but haven't had a Redman for years so was a bit dubious, I'm a little more tempted to grab a case now that you've given some intel (unusual, after looking at the link, that only the BM price is given not the ex-winery price as well)

Unfortunately you won't get much traction trying to source info on whites on either of the AFF deal forums. Focus is 'big' reds dominant.

We have Chardonnay thread.

I had previously purchased some Redmans from VM some time ago, and it was with cork. I found the wine then to be a bit thin, and seemed to vary from bottle to bottle.
While not a 'huge' wine, my comment that this release is "big/dark" should be taken in context of what has been the Redman shiraz previous style.
Happily take it to a dinner party.
If we were allowed......

This one might be a bit of a freak vintage, one of my Forum members posted this.

Looks like a standout year for this wine. Last 4 years LCWS scores look like this:
2016 Redman Shiraz Redman Wines 26 Shiraz 84.0
2015 Redman Shiraz Redman Wines 27 Shiraz Gold 96.0
2014 Redman Shiraz Redman Wines 28 Shiraz 83.0
2013 Redman Shiraz Redman Wines 28 Shiraz 83.0

The Vivino and DM non-expert reviews appear to lend weight to this argument too RB, though the flood of wine offers continues unabated so I'm inclined to be more choosy than normal...

Interestingly, The 2015 scored Gold 96 at 2018, but if to check the scores for 2017 the 2015 actually scored Bronze 86.0

When I've still got 2 dozen of the Reynella 'cellar' 2015 that we picked up for around $4 its hard to pay even $11.50 for a decent shiraz.

What I'm more interested in would be using some cellarmasters or mywineguy credits. The Schwartz Meta is mystery at mywineguy, and at cellarmasters I'm curious about the Peter Drayton Tyrian 2017, anyone every tried that one? At the end of the day even the Avon Brae Moculta 2018 is a nice big juicy wine. If the credits and cashback are right.

Certainly concur with you Chonka regarding the Avon Brae Moculta (might have got it through CM as a Mystery Wine), I think I'm down to the last couple of bottles now and would relish getting more at a bargain price...

2013 Yarra Valley pinot noir $60 -> $25

I think it might be Mandala "The Matriarch" - anyone else have an opinion?
Matches on JH score and 5 black stars, alcohol percentage and price for current vintage.

I have been waiting over 3 weeks for a delivery from Vinomofo. I think there is a massive backlog and they are not responding to emails or calls or being transparent about the situation. Plenty of marketing on social and through email from them though! I'd recommend holding off from ordering through these guys for a while unless you are really desperate.

I know that Australia Post are also inundated and this could add to delivery times.

It's not Vinomofo, it's Aus Post struggling with the volumes and people off work isolating/scared/sick.

I agree it's the best match, they have had other Mandala PN in the past.
