Vinomofo Wine Deals

Hi, got the same email and leaving it alone. Please see my TNs on admittedly different Maverick but in the same RRP price bucket here

If it was $30-$35 and a bit of a wine drought then maybe. I think for $50 you should demand an absolutely spectacular wine in this current stress environment.

If $50 is burning your pocket, I would rather jump on McGuigan Philosophy here on VM (I split it with a friend and hopefully will taste it soon)
Be interested to know your thought on the McGuigan when you get round to it. Cheers

I tried it yesterday at my local Japanese that allowed BYO.

I thought it was fantastic to my taste. The Bordeaux blend (72%Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 11% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot) works very well, it is a powerful wine yet very well structured and balanced, has fine acids, great not overpowering tannins, just beautiful on the palate tight and concentrated fruit with a hint of eucalyptus aroma. Very enjoyable indeed. Would be on par with the finest Voyager or Moss Wood offerings.

It is not cheap at $40 Cabernet Blend 2018 – Black Market Deal #37637 so I am not rushing to buy another 6 pack, however I am very pleased with this wine
I admit that despite all my bravado about abstaining from purchases to save up for the EoFY deluge of deals that I think is to come very soon, and in the face of the fact that less than $40 can get you some really exceptional plonk these days, I bought a six of this today. Hope that wasn't too weak or dumb!

Do only certain people receive these?

The blurb I got from the email stated in part "From a family owned producer dating back to 1886 and spanning across five generations. ".

Based on this, Seppeltsfield is a likely contender.
Based on their website prices range $25, $70 and $150

I can't find a suitable match, Seppeltsfield is a good winery if it is it.

But based in the heart of McLaren Vale?
My email does not mention McLaren Vale. It only mentiones Barossa.

Seppelsfield is in the Barossa (at least the last time I was there it was!).

Hence: 'This Shiraz was crafted from carefully selected parcels of old-vine Shiraz in the north of the Barossa Valley. '

Likely Angove.

Could be. If so, I have no interest.

But this "Capable of 8 years cellaring." is massively inconsistent with Vinomofo's claim that it would cellar until 2040.

UPDATE: It just occured to me that there may be separate emails to different offers that we are talking about or @neozelatino's broker doesn't know the difference between McLaren Vale and the Barossa! Mine is below:

'From a family owned producer dating back to 1886 and spanning across five generations. This is for lovers of premium, luxurious Shiraz, with all the bells and whistles, and delivered to your door in a beautiful wooden box!

Likely Angove.

I think you are spot on. And I also just received the general email.. so looks like the brokers could not move the stock so now they are going mainstream.
