Vinomofo Wine Deals

Thoughts on this from those that have had previous vintages? I recall lots of interest, but the deals start to blend in after a while

I got the 17 couple of years ago and didn’t rate it.
Just another overpriced wine, probably made for export hence the massive discount year after year.
Far better deals to boom on at this price range IMO (not necessarily with VM).

I don't think Lear is an export wine, but now pretty much exclusive to Vinomofo, first offered with the 2013 vintage in June 2017 at a $75 high price, same $29.90 low price.
I bought 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018. Kept all except the 2016, didn't buy 2017 on general vintage quality considerations. I split a 6-pack of the 2019 with a friend, haven't tried it myself yet.

Looks like the RRP was made up to be reduced and make people believe they buy $90 wine for $30.

It's a joke, when you can grab The Standish for $95-105.

It's actually embarassing, clearly these wineries don't care and just want to move wine with inflated RRP through channels like VM. If I was VM, I would shift away from this. It just makes your business come across as cheap aka Get Wines Direct 😂😂😂

This is why I stopped buying from VM, got sick of inflated RRPs and hyperbole descriptions.

Having said that the imported wine arm had some genuine deals recently which reminds me to post another positive review, this time about Gigondas.

Cork is good and the wine is excellent. In fact I thought it was significantly better than CMR CDP although both need to rest in the cellar for few years.

Haven't bought anything from VM for ages but took this. Got an email via Halliday for Penfolds Bin 311 @ $29.90. Shopback has 6% for existing and 10% for new customers. Brings it down to a bit over $28. Not a bad price if you like 311 (which my wife does).
I think it was targeted. Wasn’t meant for the wider consumption. Didn’t come up when I directly searched for “Penfolds” on VM too.

Thanks to @Tanark2 for sharing - grabbed a sixer too
not targeted, but sent to HWC mailing list due to partnership, same as VINOHALLIDAY

When ordering 6-pack I normally* open a bottle strait away regardless of cellaring requirements to:

1. Make sure the wine is in good condition, particularly when under cork as it will be too late to return after a while.
2. See how it tastes young and follow the progress as it ages.

*An exception to the rule will be if wines are very expensive and come from trusted source, VM is not one of them ;)
thanks for trying one for the team, though you have a year to return with VM :)

Having read the posts about The Lear, I always thought the VM price was good value. $90 rrp is a bit unrealistic. Speaking of overpriced wines, does anyone know what this one is:
Cheers
