Vinomofo Wine Deals

Brand new here! Wish I knew about this thread years ago.
Longtime VM mof_ buyer here.
Typically stick to trying the new BM deals, but do have my favourite quaffers throughout (Pertaringa undercover shiraz @ 11.50 comes to mind)
Love a deal.
Just saw that Free Reschke '14 Magnum is on offer (VIM offer) with code MyMagnum,
I've had the 750ml RSR '10, 12, 14 - all quite impressed for the price drop price ~22.50,
so wouldn't mind a magnum,
Anyone tried?

Thanks for the code but fair value on that magnum is probably ~$50, which on a $399 spend isn't a massive discount

You might get better mileage waiting for one of the codes or cashback to pop up
Yeah I was thinking that also. I don't have a Coonawarra magnum at all in the cellar, so I just put an order through and got one, don't know many they would have anyway.
Will report back when I (we) drink it. RSR is a fave anyway.

Side note - drinking the Powell & Son GSM as we speak, Ripper value in my opinion.
Recommend if theres any left

Thx. I still might give Haselgrove The Lear a try. Previous vintage has a nice 95pts in Halliday.
Just FYI Haselgrove The Lear is produced by entirely different people than the Nick Haselgrove wines I noted in my post. That said I purchased the Lear a while back and it is a good wine. Maybe it is quite young being 2019, however I preferred the Nick Haselgrove wines.

Would be great to get some TN's on both wines if you get the time once they've arrived (curious in particular about the Paternus)...
I did try Paternus over two days. On day one - medium to full body and it is almost exactly tasted like Schoolhouse 2019 CS Under wax, just like with the Schoolhouse it is under Diam 2 cork. A little bit single dimensional with a lot of plum on the mid palate with a medium to long finish. And just like with the Schoolhouse CS, it wasn't really to my taste but the wife liked it. On the second day it really settled down well and I enjoyed it a lot more than on the first one. The influence of the Shiraz component was minimal to my taste but probably added a bit of a back to it. For reference I would personally pay a bit more and just get Wynns BL if I was after Goonawarra CS. All that said it is a good value for the VM discounted sticker price but most definitely not worth the stated RRP.

Much obliged OW, I remember sending back a case of the Schoolhouse CS (can't recall whether it was the same vintage) after finding it to be pretty average, haven't had all that much joy from Ulithorne either to be honest, but as always, it's down to individual taste...

I notice that Winestar this morning are flogging the 2019 Schoolhouse CS, which I must say I don't mind, for $19.99/bottle in dozen buys. Free delivery there.

Yeah, saw that. Confused me in the 1st place. The Lear is now even 2020 so way too young and me way to impatient.
Went to Sandalford here in Perth yesterday and ended up buying some wine. So I might park the next purchase for a couple of weeks.

By the way: Tried a Montague Pax Reserve Chardy which was a VM blackmarket buy on Friday - found it spectacular. Great balance between modern acidic and oaky buttery. (Usually I'm more an old style Chardy guy)

Do we have the link for the chardy? Stocking up for the summer. 😃😃

I had an email from my broker last Tue (30) listing (under black market) the Montague Estate Chardy for $22.50 and another wine which doesn't quite line up with the Pax reserve... RRP $90 (not $68) and some other discrepancies... for $45/btl

Welcome to AFF @ThatWineGuy
I just received the RSR Magnum but have no reason to open it yet.
Boomed on the old vine cab-sav offer today for $15 from Hollick.
Also the 2019 Reschke Vitulus Cabernet Sauvignon. It apparently has a great nose. One to lay down?

If you happened to want a '14 cellar release of the same for $25, it's today's VIM offer:

Thanks, boremeer. I did see that. I went with Winestar with the 20% discount and free delivery. I am still drinking the 2010s and 2013s. I'll stash some of the 2019s away for a couple of years.
