Vinomofo Wine Deals

Spy valley lives up to the reviews. Bursting with flavour & lovely long after-taste. Not an everyday drinker but will be nice to crack the odd one over a few years to see how they develop - I'm sure they will be very complex given time.

I'm feeling very reluctant to speculate with VM at present, the Star Lane Sangiovese & Miss Harry are living on borrowed time. Glad I don't drink CS or Shiraz any more (oak is evil) or else my self-restraint may be more sorely tested. ;)

What an act of heresy!! Shiraz is my weapon of choice but apart from the Churchview CS bought a few months ago on VM I haven't had an outstanding one for ages (I have very fond memories of the Pewsey Vale Cab Sav from the 80's and 90's-ancient history now) Over-oaked=bad sensitively handled oak=gooood.....

w&d, are you talking about the bartondale cab? I found my one bottle underwhelming for the promise it offered. Sure I liked it, but I think the winemaker GregGarnish is into a European style of making and maybe that was lost on me. I know that their style is a little unique, but st johns range is great. if it the same wine, I remember a critique saying he expected more from that price point. But, it's a good wine none the less. It is certainly one I have to get back and query more.

My quaffers have needed restocking for a few weeks, but I haven't seen any black market or secret deals that tempted my itchy trigger finger. I received a $25 off next order offer today and have gone with the 2014 Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz for $16 a bottle taking in account the credit and delivery.

couldn't resist the Hatter either...the extra $25 off sealed it.

What's this about a $25 off offer ?

No BF not the Barton but this little cheapie https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine...rgaret-river-cabernet-sauvignon-2013-Nov-0715 I usually find straight Cab Sav a bit thin, stalky, acidic blah blah but this cheeky drop was very good indeed (I haven't got a bottle left after having bought a case when it was first offered), I very much appreciate a Cab Merlot or even Cab Shiraz but have been underwhelmed by the straight varietal in recent years.

Ok..now I know. Also I was dining in Lygon st where the house wine included in the deal was a churchview silverleaf merlot. Even that was very good, not as cheaply made as you'd thing for the retail price.

Wonder how they decide. Maybe it's a case of absence makes the VM grow fonder.

Not sure - I have not ordered anything from the Fo since mid April but I do have 2 x referral credits waiting to be used, maybe these worked against me in this round of handouts

Are you talking about the Bartondale Cab Sauv 2012? If so, I had a different experience. For me it was the standout wine in the mixed 6 of 95-96 pointers that included the candles and mythology.

i have had the White label Wolfie, got some from Winestar. it is a lovely drink and well worth the $25 a bottle, $50 as RRP, mmmm stretching it a bit. I have the Cantoniere and yet to taste, could be going back based on all the comments i read.
A busy forum this arvo whilst I was lazily enjoying a 2015 Top paddock Pinot for starters and then a never before tried 2005 Fairbank Cab/Merlot(78/22) from Bendigo. Three of us had nearly four hours to talk about Vinomofo, Pauline Hanson, U2's latest blu-ray, Super Hi def telees, and all things to save the planet, but after we did that in the first fifteen minutes, it was time to really get deep with the conversation. All fun, but I went thru many pages here and the best post, and correct me if I am wrong, was AC keeping, or nearly keeping his finger off the Buy Now Button. Second to that was someone else who I think luckily chose to arrange the letters in his monicker correctly saying he is going to ditch the Allegiace shiraz that hasn't been delivered yet. Am I wrong here, did I miss a review as my six bott case thru The wine guy are waiting for daddy.

The Fo never cease to attract us with those offers and wasn't it AC himself who said deals would become skinnier and sinnier.(didn't mean to leave the k out but it's good). They may be as skinny as Queen Lattifa's g string, but they are still there. And doesn't the free shipping excite everyone.

Just don't forget to post your reviews, and if they are harsh, so beit, but at least they are honest on the Nice Wines I Have Had forum.

ps...nearly forgot...those white label wolfies certainly have a stack of cudos. I cannot remember having any at all, but my guess is that for $25, they pack one hell of a punch, plus the cellaring potential would have to be great. Can someone enlighten me as to the flavour profiles from personal experience. Ta.

and finally.......a query from someone
There may be a bit of price fixing on the websites but I don't think wineries are making wines specifically to be sold on VinoMofo.

You wanna bet your house on it? I was listening to a local sunday morning wine radio program and the winemaker that was on, a name that I can't remember nor the winery, specifically said they make wine for the Fo. Add Cantoniere , and quite possibly the latest one I bought, the cool climate shiraz Mussolini. I don't really care so long as I like it and it offers good value. When they quote sixty bucks retail, it should taste like a premium product. Otherwise, it's going back.

Did I tell you about my mate who got to drink 12 wines, a case, for free after returning 12 cases in a row. Of course I am joking, but I think there would be some who returned 2 or 3 in a row. Wozza, you one of them?
