Vinomofo Wine Deals

Do people in QLD still order wine over summer with the heat? I suppose it doesn't matter too much with quaffers but I reckon the warehouse and transport trucks and vans would be hot. Having said that, with Brisbane storms lately this week isn't a total scorcher. Can I add its -26 degrees where I am this week :)

LOL. Ice wine then! Yep, variations in temperature kill wine, as does vibration and excesses of light. As Daver6 rightfully espoused in the DM tread if you wouldn't transport chocolate in the prevailing weather, don't do it to your wine! Sage advice. By all means order, but delay transportation! Reputable retailers generally offer this option!

I'm far from an expert on ice wines living in Qld but I have fond memories of a Canadian ice wine by Inniskillan. It was many moons ago in London.

Welcome Paul82.

A number of these have already been revealed in this thread so I suggest you try the search option at the top right of the page and/or this site:

Welcome on-board. I don't have the details to hand, but if you put some of the info (e.g. variety / location / price) in the search box you'll probably find out a few of them. Happy buying

I believe the Coonawarra 2014 Black Market Shiraz $45 -> $15 is https://www.penley.com.au/product/R...-E54793DBE3F7&sortBy=ProductTitle&maxRows=12&

It's my first wine match, but the tasting notes are both remarkably similar. Looks like a stellar option!

I don't think Penley Estate is "the most famous address in Coonawarra", but it's the most common on Vinomofo and matches this on $45 winery price and 15% a/v, uncommon in Coonawarra, 5 red-star winery.

Pity, I was hoping it was something along the lines of Wynns...

Cheers RB, well pointed. Any opinions? I've bought 6 as I'm a fan of BP.

No, haven't tried the Richardsons, the Shiraz current vintage on their site is 2012, so 2014 an advance release. I have a bottle of the Richardson Cabernet 2013, but haven't tried it yet.
I have tried the Section 1 2013, not a big fan, the Viognier is a bit obvious for me.

So this arrived last night

To my surprise it was a cork and not a screwcap. :D
Look forward to your review lawrage and just think, you have the added romance of a tree upon extraction. Ahhhh, those were the days. Luckily the fizzy stuff still comes with wood, the noise upon opening should resemble the sigh of a contented woman.
I reckon my 2006 Moet will sound like my wife with a new pair of shoes on. Firm, leathery, great body, smooth texture. Yep, that's her allright.
