Agree. I'm not in a buying mood when it comes to VM.

They had been one of my main sources for wine. But my buying has slowed considerably and there are often much better deals available other than via VM.

Mine too and I'm buying much less from them. I still always have a look, but finding less of interest - thus my rant for (again) wasting time

I must say I agree ... Trawling through the chaotic box-strewn wine zone, I realised that VM products comprise about 80% of the stash. But probably only 3 or four wines that I'm keen to keep or would purchase again - so must consume the others to make room. And 12 of something that's a bit meh last too long & don't work as gifts or worthwhile wines to share. And who's the condescending type writing their blurbs? At one level they feign to educate & on the other provide such fey faux 'reviews'. Back to Twitter with you, begone! Now if they'd do a few more mixed packs ...

Just in case I've got this wrong, the WA Zinfandel on offer at the moment is the St John's from Churchview even though the vintage (2015) doesn't appear yet on Churchview's own website https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-deal-zinfandel-2015?, quite keen to grab another dozen especially with free shipping as the 2014 and 13' were/are pretty darn good....

btw thanks to Rug for the heads-up...

I concur for what that's worth on the identity, but much as I like Zin (oh no, now I'm sounding like VM!), I wasn't totally taken with their previous offering (2014?) - particularly after the magnificence of Warrabilla (memo to self get more of these).

I don't get them right very often but I think that this one's a safe bet! I agree that the 2014 probably wasn't quite as profound as the 2013 but it still tempts me, haven't had any of the Warrabilla stable (yet) but can only imagine that their "Zin" is both decadent and zinful if their other offerings are anything to go by!

Do yourself a favour if you like big wines made with class. Warrabilla make very good wines and they are well priced v quality. Don't stop at the Zinfandel. The Parola's Durif is sensational. Actually the Parola's Shiraz & Cabernet are great as well.

I have it on very good authority from another esteemed member that the Warrabilla wines are indeed the duck's guts! I should really put the $144 I've been contemplating spending on the Rutherglen Artisan shiraz and subscribe to Warrabilla for around the same money ($150 from memory) and get a mixed 1/2 dozen of their wines....;)

Having said that, I've been getting the dreaded "Can't open the page...server not found message " for Warrabilla, is anyone else able to get onto their site?

G'day All,

Standard opener - long time lurker, first time poster...

This deal (https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-deal-shiraz-2015-23819) seems to be the next vintage of Haselgrove The Lear. Assuming that's correct, $29.90 would seem a reasonable price point for this wine, if you wait around for a VM free postage on Friday arvo deal. There seems to be a couple of good reviews around for this vintage too. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this wine or past vintages?

Hi hormone120; welcome aboard. You are correct with your thinking. I have not opened my 2014 and 2015 supply. For a report go back in the thread to Redbigots post 11819. Cheers

Welcome aboard hormone120. I posted some tasting notes for this one a couple of weeks ago:

I boomed.
(on the 95 point AH Savvy).
@Big Bad Burley, it's NOT the Pertaringa or the Penny's Hill I was expecting.

I relented and boomed too, free shipping got me.

Hasn’t yet arrived but my thinking was Sidewood. I live about 10 mins away and like their stuff. Either way it is only going to be a quaffer.
