Vinomofo Wine Deals

The current Black Friday campaign proves Vinomofo have lost their way.

Who tf wants to buy a one, and only one, $100+ bottle of wine that has a 10-20% discount and still available from the wineries directly?
  • Yarra Yering No2 '21 is available direct for $135; vm $110
  • The Standish '22 is available direct for $125; vm $129.99 (!!)
  • By Farr RP '22 is available direct for $170; vm $140
  • Maurice O'Shea '14 is available direct for $500; vm $450
  • Mumm NV is available from Dan's for $59.99; vm $50
If you're buying these wines, do you care if you save 10-20%? Wouldn't we rather pay a little extra, get a few bottles and not be rushed by an artificial timer. Also, if you're only buying 1 bottle, wtf are you doing with it?

Vinomofo's point of difference was great drops at great prices, so unless they offer these wines at massive discounts (eg. the first fridge magnets campaign) this is just any other sale at any other wine store, with an artificial restriction on the number of bottles you can buy

What are they doing? Trying to bring in folks with headline mkting campaigns, limit supply, and fill the carts with cough. They've lost their way.
This has a bit of "old man yelling at clouds" about it, @z3n2794
It's a discount wine site and this is the AFF forum - the entire premise is bang for your buck.
"wouldn't we rather pay extra" - this had me in stitches 🤣

the entire premise is bang for your buck.
I think you've missed my point - which was that Vinomofo's premise was bang for buck, and this latest campaign is headlined by a bunch offers that are anything but bang for buck. In their monthly rinse and repeat of "The greatest sales ever" they've lost what made them special.

The other point I was making was their pricing / bottle limit strategy made no sense. If you're interested in any of the headline deals – which I was – saving $20 and only getting 1 bottle is a waste, I don't want 1 bottle of YY DR#2 or Mumm NV – I want at least 3. And yes, I'd rather pay extra direct to the winery and get 3 bottles, because I'm paying extra to add 2 more bottles anyway. 3 bottles of YY is >$400, saving $25 a bottle adds up... but only if you can add more bottles...

If the discounts were 60% off, then we're in different territory because it maximises the number of punters who can access the deal, vs 1 person buying 12 bottles and 11 others missing out. But at $25/bottle saving for something that is still available on the wineries website – the single bottle limits are ridiculous.

Bf40 for $40 off

However it only seems to apply $30 in my cart. Used it to nab Maxwell Shiraz
Anything good use for the discount code? Any comment for the following? Thanks.

Nothing yesterday tickled me. I’d buy Henry at $50 but I won’t waste a day sweating on it. However with $40 off and utilising that with several individual orders it’s a different story. Craiglee works and the spirit thief at $59 I won’t pass on.
Thing is if I’d purchased things yesterday and they are still in stock today I’d be buying again today with the discount and returning yesterday’s purchase. Just a thought..
