Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

Not available on my flight yesterday. Still have not seen it.

Me neither, and have even been on a variety of routes in last few weeks (SYD-MKY-SYD, SYD-MEL-SYD, SYD-ADL-SYD, SYD-BNE-SYD). Even took my tablet out and tried but said there was nothing to connect to. Maybe I'm just unlucky?

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

I have used it quite a number of times but my last trip a few days ago with the programs kept stopping and resetting at random times in a program and the voice to picture was not synchronized. Other than my last trip it has been good. Let's see what Mondays flight is like.
That sounds like my experience last Sunday.

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

Are you sure you're doing it right? It is sometimes, but not always, announced.

Surely you jest :!: They have a wireless IFE system but don't tell people it exists

But anyway I asked yesterday, not fitted to the aircraft.

Well, the instructions are in the in flight mag, and the early boarding passengers usually get an announcement but if you board towards you will likely miss the PA about it has been my experience.

Basically, the question is have you checked for the presence of the wireless network on each of those flights?

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

You wonder why it's not got signage on those planes fitted - bulkhead row 1, row 3 and roof / overhead lockers further down the aisle?

No I have not. It would be hard to believe that the FA's would hand out Samsung tabs to the business class customers and not tell them of the presence of the wireless. But that being said, with VA's service there is little that would surprise me

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

It's not currently working with apple products...

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

Maybe not working with IOS 7, worked fine on iPADs x 2 yesterday for me, and I am in no hurry to upgrade.
Worked with iPhone that hasnt been upgraded to iOS7, didnt work with iPad that HAS iOS7. Was told a fix was coming.

Strikes me that those are the people who least need to be told about it given they are given tablet?

Didn't work on my iPhone 4S (ios7) or my iPad (non-ios7)

And yes I am an apple iDiot.

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

Upgrading to iOS7 was the only difference between my two trips where it worked then cut out intermittently.

Neither of my devices could find the wireless network.

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

Worked on a iPhone 4 and an iPad for me - both still running OS6.

Re: Virgin Australia streaming IFE

This sure sounds like a great solution! hahaha

I must say I'm not impressed with the whole IFE situation...(Or the situation at virgin in general. But getting to gold in QFF would take to long.)
