Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

This thread hasn’t had much action lately...

This was my VA J meal yesterday on BNE-ROK, 8.45am departure:

No other options, everyone just got the same snack box.

I’d just had corn flakes for breakfast in the lounge (there were not a lot of food options there either) so just what I felt like was... more corn flakes.
I remember a long time ago flying in J PER-MEL leaving PER at 9.30 and arriving in MEL early evening. I had a buffet breakfast at my hotel. On arrival at the lounge, there was breakfast on offer. The flight meal was breakfast. I said I was disappointed, that given the arrival time, that meal should have been lunch. The cabin crew agreed and did what they could from the snack trolley - and gave me some wine to take away (since I didn't want a third breakfast and didn't want to drink on an empty stomach). So even in the good old days, I think their catering was not what the price would lead one to expect.

Everything looks like "money saving" mode.
Probably a good thing for VA3, moving forward, but it will certainly be an eye opener compared to VA1 pre vol admin and Covid.

Does anyone know if wine is currently available in J?

The Virgin web site has contradicting statements on this!

Thanks ... I was just wondering if it was one of those "on again, off again" things!

Yep beer and wine were free flowing on my PER-BNE 0730 dep......I did partake to make up for the 'snack box' and lack of lounge and food options in T1@ PER

We flew MEL-BNE-CNS over Christmas and had a very interesting conversation with the crew.
Apparently they have no catering contract and therefore no ice can't keep food cold, hence the snack box, limited beers on board and no sparkling. We used out Platinum upgrades and I would have been fairly annoyed if we had of paid for the privilege.
The current advertising campaign of you can't match service was pretty jarring especially as the J crew was also helping out down the back.

BNE-CBR, 7.50pm departure. This time there wasn’t even a snack box; instead we were offered the same snacks as economy:

We were offered plenty of wine to make up for the poor catering and the FA was very apologetic.

Now we get it.
Ta for info.

I burnt some old points on BNE-CNS today, 8:50 departure. I know what it looks like, but yes the lavatory was operational. And yes the wines are as warm as they look (the milk was the same temperature).
2 questions; is anyone paying cash for these flights and
where is Hrdlicka? All I receive from Velocity is points earn emails.

Ooo fancy looking milk in a box, my milk was warm and served in a coffee cup.

I did the 5.5hr trek BNE-PER in Y after going across in J and handing out a packet of cookies without a BOB is just cough in Y. I have 0 issues BOB but they have had enough time to be able to cater sandwiches, wraps etc all pre packaged. Let alone the fact they had 4 people checking in 11 flights and over 1000 people lined up and still checking in luggage while planes were boarding.

Old Jane actually needs to show some leadership and communicate with VA's customers - it's a complete joke.
