Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

1/12/22 VA118 ZQN - BNE 1655
3/12/22 VA379 BNE - TSV 1750

Both flights had the same menu; a choice of mustard chicken with mash and beans or a vege gnocchi. I had the chicken both times and it was quite tasty, wife had the gnocchi and said it was good but she switched to the chicken on the second flight :p. All paired with St Hallets Faith shiraz. The ZQN flight also had flat bread and cake. The flat bread worked well with the chicken gravy so a bit of a shame it was missing from the domestic version.

Both flights had friendly and attentive crews and even without ZQN lounge access I would consider our first VA J trip since 2019 to be a success.

Also collected all 4 cheese and cracker packs to be used for snacks at home

Did you declare?!
Haha I declared dairy but also had some bottles of baby formula. The cheese and crackers are sealed from Australia though, but perhaps would still be a problem knowing how over zealous some of those officers can be. I am still mad they took my bulls scrotum mate cup from me at OOL 13 years ago - was told if they were from Chile it was fine but not allowed from Argentina!

Thai chicken curry or Mac and cheese last night on VA886. Chose the latter - I'd say uninspiring, but it tasted fine. A good portion.

Hmmm... I keep it does not look like Mac and Cheese to me for some reason, at least compared to other photos I saw on this thread and onboard.

I suppose with all the delays in SYD, one is likely to get some food to eat on the plane.

It's the "Truffled Mac and Cheese with Ratatouille" that was the alternative option on my SYD-DPS flight a few weeks back.

Couldn't taste any truffle in mine, for what it's worth! Though I wasn't told it would have it either!
