I've already posted the starter previously (King Smoked Salmon) so i'll not post again.

Main:Barramundi fillet with bok choy, ginger soy and sesame dressing

Tell the FA when you get onboard that you need vego food and could they please hold a meal for you. Has worked for me every time.

I often take the vego option. It hadn't occurred to me that someone else might not get a meal because of it.

Hmm.. Maybe I'll mention to the FA next time that I'm also happy with the meat option if it comes to that :)

That's very thoughtful!

Thank you! :)

VA1405 ADL/BNE 20/2 (E190)

Brilliant pre-flight service in the VA Lounge. My pre-allocated 2A had been taken away and after some research into my booking, was re-instated. Theoni and Arthur (Mgr) allowed Access for medhead's mum on a later flight. Present of Haighs chocolates were gratefully received.

PB worked as expected and full in J when I got onboard. Great service from ADL-based crew and my first flight on the Embraer for a long time.

Sat down to a welcome on board Mocktail (which I love):

and dinner was the duck and beef pie (yummo):

Captain came out mid-flight and had a bit of a chat - another passenger joked that he had better hope he's not locked out by the FO and I added she'd better not be squawking 7500. He laughed and said he'd send the FO to talk to us as proof. True to his word, the FO appeared later and we had a good 20 min chat - Emily IIRC. She's done a lot as a pilot for being only 29, had flown the 777 but moved back to E190. She was a delight.

Virgin catering is still pretty darn terrible for the most part but given what the competition is doing at the moment they don't have to try. Dropping the Bloody Mary from the drinks menu though is a bloody disaster. Was really the only decent meal option available!

Not that I fly VA J very often (ok, rarely - if ever) but good tip, thanks.

I am sure that vegos who don't know to ask on boarding will thank you.

Now if only VA could have allow us to have a meal choice as part of our profile.

An absolutely terrible picture but breakfast this morning. No Vego option for breakfast but CSM Shellie somehow made this zucchini slice appear!

It did come with fruit but my little one was munching away at it!

Okay, that's bloody interesting! It was dropped just before X-mas (on all flights) in favour of a new Peach iced tea product :( As recently as 2 weeks ago I was told it's gone for good. Flew last week but didn't even bother to ask. Sounds like good news!!!:)

Peach iced tea?

Was this Economy or Business? I'm not sure if they use the Mr & Mrs T's Bloody Mary Mix in Economy, but it definitely isn't in business (They all taste slightly different, not the over-salted can mix). My Bloody Mary's were in J though.

In J of course! They always used Mr & Mrs T's in the past. I think the price or supply of that may have been part of the problem. Sounds like they are using something else now.

Mine was definitely tomato juice, tabasco, lemon, worcestershire and salt/pepper (could see the pepper in it). I much prefer it that way (and that's been since mid-december through this w/end just gone). Perhaps you just had a dud crew:(

Lunch time MEL - PER on the B738, note that I didn't get a picture of the main - it was a Thai vego curry and was actually quite good.

The soup was perfectly spicy for me but had a tad too much kick for SWMBO. The lemon/lime meringue we both loved!

CSM David swung between being quite attentive and absent, not bad but just ordinary.

I'm certainly hoping I stay with an a330 for the return journey

Cheese plate for afternoon service today, which is fine but it came with a baked cheesecake dessert so everything was the same colour and texture. I wish they'd serve more fruit.

A330's. I wish they had the mocktail on the 330's. They go *great* with a splash of Gin!

Aha. Mystery solved. It's been dumped from 737 services where they used Mr & Mrs T's mix but still available on a330's where it's mixed properly. Wonder if they can make me a Perfect Manhattan, certainly stumped the staff in the QF F lounge recently!
