Virgin Australia Business Flyer is the airline's loyalty program for small to medium businesses.

If you're unfamiliar with this program, you can read our guide here:

This thread is for discussion about the VA Business Flyer program. :)

I have recently closed my Virgin Business Flyer account and would like to know if I reopen the account whether I'm eligible for the tier one bonus of two pilot velocity gold after spenting $2K in the first three months of reopening the account.

Not if you are using the same ABN/ACN.

I flew with VA yesterday and the flight has credited to my Virgin Australia Business Flyer account as "Not eligible to earn points".

It's a regular J fare that I booked on the VA website - the only thing that's special about it is that I used a promo code (ZXW75) to get a 7% discount. Does this exclude you from earning points through Business Flyer?

FWIW the flight I took the day before, also booked with a (different) promo code, did earn points through Business Flyer.

Don't think this warrants a new thread, but......

Other than the discount for Flex and J fares, is there a difference between booking through the business portal and booking through the VA website with an ABN added?

Extra Velocity points, effectively doubled, and extra bonuses when you reach 2nd/3rd tier, such as awarding Gold Status to other Velocity members on your account.

I think you get all that if the booking was made through VA with an ABN added? That is, such a booking would count towards and accumulate points to the BF account.

Here is what constitutes an eligible flight for the current new sign up bonus:

A. a one-way domestic or short haul international flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, with a VA flight number, booked through virginaustralia.com adding their ABN number to the booking before travel, the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal or via the member’s nominated Travel Management Company,

Has anybody had any issues signing up for the VA Business Flyer?

I have a current ABN and I applied last Monday, no email or anything so I applied again the next day. Same, nothing and I applied again yesterday, no acknowledgement of application of details of an account? The details I put in were all via the drop down boxes, so I believe I stayed withing the safety rails. Not sure what has happened. :(

I recall it was processed pretty quickly for me a few years ago.

But if it’s any consolation, even as an existing member I still get invites to join….🤷‍♂️

How do you go about claiming the pilot gold when you spend the $2000 in the first 3 months? I'm the admin in our business account, but I can't see where to do it?

I applied a week ago and I still haven't heard anything!

Hi everyone.

Someone mentioned here that using Business flyer program gives you "Extra Velocity points, effectively doubled". I booked two domestic flights and got 445 and 575 points. Didn't book it via Business account, though. Now I claim missing points via Business portal and expected to get the same amount but only got 51 and 74 respectively. Claim was approved instantly by the system and not a human. Am I missing something?

It's extra, but not double.
Velocity earn is $1:5 points, then whatever tier bonuses apply. Business Flyer is $1:1.

Just checked my earn from a recent trip and it's posted correctly at $1:1point.

@Azro Did you spend $51 and $74?

I spent $89 and $115 (therefore got 89*5=445 and 115*5=575 points), so these 51 and 74 points don't make sense to me... Should've gotten 89 and 115.

Anyone know why this shows as unticketed in the biz portal? I just resent my itinerary to myself and the ticket attached to the email has a number and says okay to fly.

Is this a common thing, or an error?
