Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

VA1089 (1025 hours LST - SYD, B738 VH-YFQ) was airborne at 1111 so the expected 1236 hours arrival will be 36 minutes tardy.

On Wednesday 14 March 2018, VA858 (1600 hours mid afternoon from SYD down to MEL, B738 VH-VUW) was airborne at 1748, so expected arrival has become 1902 hours, 87 minutes tardy.

Thursday 15 March 2018 has VA820, the 0830 hours SYD - MEL not having become airborne until 0945. Inevitable result is a bad delay with likely arrival at 1108 hours, 63 late for B738 VH-VUR.

Sunday 18 March 2018's VA876, the 1815 hours SYD - MEL that took off at 1913 - B738 VH-VON - should arrive at roughly 2033 hours tonight, 43 minutes tardy.

On Tuesday 20 March, VA242, the 1905 hours ADL - MEL (B738 VH-YWE) took off at 2021. Expected arrival is 61 minutes late at 2156 hours.

VA413 (0900 ADL - SYD airborne at 1001 hours on Wednesday 21 March, B738 VH-VUP) should arrive at 1207 hours, 42 minutes late.

Thursday 22 March 2018 has VA1106, the 1530 hours mid afternoon BNE down to NTL that took off in a timely fashion at 1543 (B738 VH-VUJ) suggested as arriving at 1827, 37 minutes late.

A few aircraft are circling near NTL so I assume that what looks to be a thunderstorm on the BOM website means an 'interesting' evening.

B738 VH-YID on the scheduled 0935 hours MEL up to MCY, VA1507 was in the sky at 1027. Arrival should be shortly at 1127, 32 minutes behind the timetable.

Later on Saturday 24 March, the XCH (look it up: expensive destination) - PER VA1912 (A320 VH-YUD) should arrive at 1825 hours, 55 minutes late.

VA562 (A332 VH-XFJ, the mid afternoon 1530 hours PER - SYD that took off at 1608) is showing on FR24 with an estimated touchdown time of 2257 versus the scheduled at gate arrival of 2240.

The flight may do better than this as FR24 sometimes overestimates flight times, but it's sailing close to the 2300 hours curfew.

VA1793 (f100 VH-FZH, the Wednesday 28 March 2018, 1625 hours PER - GET that was airborne at 1847) should arrive at 1939 hours, 134 minutes behind schedule.

VA1293, the 1055 hours Thursday 29 March 2018 MEL - CNS that has B738 VH-VFU took off at 1209, so arrival in FNQ should be at 1410 hours, 50 minutes late.

On Easter Monday, 2 April 2018, VA1321 (scheduled 1015 hours mid morning HBA - MEL that was in the sky at 1101 hours) should arrive at roughly 1213, 43 late.

VA555 (0905 hours SYD across to PER that was in the sky at 1054, A332 VH-XFC) is angling for a 1333 hours arrival, 78 minutes behind the timetable.

On Easter Monday, 2 April 2018, VA1313, the scheduled 0600 first of the morning HBA - MEL has (if websites are to be believed) had an extraordinary delay. Takeoff was at 1859 with the expected 2013 hours evening arrival instead of the timetabled 0715 hours to be 718 minutes late. Aircraft is B738 VH-VUL. To add to woes being very busy, there is a line of aircraft queuing to land.

One wonders how many Velocity points VA will give FF scheme members if they, Oliver Twist-like, say 'nothing' is inadequate.

VA1 (3 April 2018, Easter Tuesday) with B773ER VH-VPD, the 0930 hours SYd - LAX that took off at 1124 should arrive at 0737 hours, 92 late.

The 1000 hours MEL - HKG, VA87 did not take off until 1145 late this morning. A332 VH-XFD should arrive 80 minutes late at 1900 hours.

The dull autumnal weather in MEL (possibly some fog) has not helped punctuality on the morning of Thursday 5 April 2018. VA812, the 0730 hours SYD - MEL was airborne at 0801 about 15 minutes late but was then held over Mt Buller, Vic. B738 VH-VUH should arrive at 0946 hours, 41 minutes late.

Tuesday 10 April 2017 has VA846, the 1400 hours SYD - MEL with B738 VH-VUR that took off at 1503 predicted to arrive at 1622 hours, 47 minutes behind the eight ball.

VA810 (0715 hours SYD - MEL, Wednesday 11 April 2018 with B738 VH-YFP) was not airborne until 0845 hours. Arrival is predicted at 1012 hours, 82 minutes tardy. There had been a JQ flight ex MEL apparently return to that airfield: this has created delays.

VA427 (Friday 13 April 1530 hours mid afternoon ADL - SYD that took off at 1601 with B738 VH-YFS) looks to be arriving at 1825, 35 minutes late.

The 1815 hours early evening JQ693 from MEL across to PER (A332 VH-XFE) took off at 1913 hours. estimated arrival is 2114 hours, 39 minutes tardy.

There are what to laymen appear seem pretty strong winds at MEL during the late evening of Friday 13 April, gusting to 50kmh.

VA894, the 2100 hours SYD - MEL (B738 VH-YFZ) took off at 2212 hours. Expected arrival is 2322 hours, 47 late.
