Click here for a list of current Virgin Australia discount codes:

A while back VA had a discount code that could be used for (almost) any domestic booking.

Are there any discount codes that work at the moment?

Thanks!

We need some more whinging re; end of promo codes, c'mon jake7, I'm wanting more of a dig at VA2/Bain over this cost cutting, ha!

I'm assuming it's not worth an announcement to the general public the end of these promo codes as many probably don't even know they exist........then again won't be long before the great folk that we are @AFF, some newy codes will soon follow down this thread!

maybe they figure that they don’t need them at the moment.
Similar to what the VA agent told me on the phone yesterday. She went something to the effect of, we don't believe there is a need for any promo codes now, given that the VA airfares are very cheap ... and the CRV59 expired on 31/06/21. I'm like, alright, if you say so... I did sense a bit of feeling that the agent was not happy with me discussing the promo codes ... she was a very dismissive of the promo codes from the beginning of the call. I felt the tone was more on the lines of "oh yea? you need a discount? really?? how about you pay full fare, our fares are very cheap"

Re : the VA agent's point on VA fares being VERY cheap - I mean, she is not wrong in saying that the fares are cheap. But IMHO, I wouldn't say the fares very cheap. They are cheap when compared to QF. But we all know that VA has been very clear from the start of VA2 that they ARE NOT in competition with QF and hence the fares are NOT very cheap, because I'm not comparing VA fare with a more expensive fare. I think they should give some promo codes to have a better edge. Again, this is just me, whining ... because the 10% I save off my $2K fare could be, potentially used for something good, say a nice bottle of PN or to forage through the discount bin at Dan's and stocking up for the Christmas break :P

I hope so ... with QF extending WP until Dec 2022, I was thinking of diverting Dom travel spend towards VA2, exclusively because their J product is cheap (again, not comparing with any other airline's J fare) and helps me get quickly to VA WP

Yes this is true and on the record many times I agree - so they are competing directly with Jetstar and Rex mainly and I guess from my observation they are priced just a little above those two… so maybe they are where they want to be (hence the end of promo codes)….?

Whilst true they aren’t competing with QF they do offer a far better service at a fraction of the cost. Maybe the airline that can’t do PDB’s or are too tight fisted to serve spirits still are aiming for a LCC without the low cost price part 🤣

I guess that is a subjective opinion of whoever chooses to hold it right. But regardless perhaps the absence of promo codes suggests their pricing that seems to hover around just above Jetstar and Rex and usually below QF is where they want to be in the market to attract their new clientele base and focus.

Codes still not working, so annoying!
VA Premium Customer Service agent mentioned that there are no active promo codes at this point in time. Reason given was that "our fares are not so expensive at the moment and hence we don't see a need for a promo code"

And yes, SUPER annoying! :(

def VA great price point.

$169 (Choice) MEL to ROK, with stop over in BNE, I mean how value orientated is that, 2 sectors, QF $237, still not bad price.

We just got used to using promo codes with VA, no biggie aslong as prices still great value IMO.

Promo codes come n go, they'll be back.

Anyone know of any promo codes that may work now? Fares from Bne to Cns is 209...so not that cheap.
None at this point, and considering the earlier replies I doubt you'll get any soon. (although happy to be proven wrong!) Having said that, what date range are you looking for to bring up 209 each way???

I did a few spot checks and it seems OUR52 might not be applying any discount (even when searching through the NRMA hosted widget)

I am an NRMA member but I don't have the motivation to go to battle with VA/NRMA on this, maybe another member can :)

Tried that for 28-30 January, but no dice. Also...it says in the T&C that it applies for Choice and Business, but not for Flex??

Not sure why but yes $209 does appear the cheapest on Jan 10th for a day flight. The evening flights are down to $125 and all flights the next day are around $155 so not sure why that day is more expensive.
Supply and demand. You'll most likely find that there's already a reasonable number of fares sold and hence, higher prices for that day.
