Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

Sniff, sniff, isn't that one of the endangered, soon to be extinct, species - a VA B777?
2 left in Australia and parked. Still registered to a shell company of VA.
Other 2 in the USA and parked for the foreseeable future. Both registered to their banks.

ex-VH VOZ now at the Russian Charter operator.

It's a 787. Model is hanging around from when JB was thinking of getting 787s.
Would've been a "check out" and pass on situation if that was the case for JB.

Which would be similar to JB's anti-Allince early on due to influence from former shareholders such as EY and the legacy DL long-haul partnership formed by former CEO BG (Godfrey) from the Virgin Blue/V Australia/Pacific Blue era

Only CEO I recall looking closely into 787s would've been Scurrah when he was initially looking at a combined 77W/330 replacement.

I have got downgraded for a flight BME-PER due to a plan change, I though the A320’s had a business section

so where has this layout come from?

Looks like all 4 BME-PER flights that weekend are scheduled to be operated by A320 unless you change to 5 November or 8 November? In case you had originally paid for the booking, the current Business class fare is $399 as a comparison...

The second layout is B737. The A320s do not have business class.
They may want to update their web page seat maps section then

Looks like VHVUJ/N343CG will be on the ground in the next 20mins or so in BNE.

Interesting they've re-leased it - 15 years would put it amongst the older birds now. Perhaps a stop gap for the time being and will be one of the first to go when the new Max arrive.

Anything can look good at the right price!

Given the Covid uncertainty - a nicely priced lease on someone's surplus fleet is hard to beat. Just as long as VA don't have to cover the service Check.
