Virgin Happy Hour [Thursdays]

Re: Happy Hour returns

You go to this secret website, I could be killed for making this public, Virgin Australia | Book flights & holidays with Virgin Australia :)

I actually thought Happy Hour had become a "for registered pax only" type promo. You can see they don't really interest me a great deal, but I can say the email did finally arrive! Interesting to see there were dates within the 3 month window as previously discussed, in fact straight away for the MEL-OOL ones I think.

Happy hours not so cheery anymore

Nothing much to capture the imagination in the not-so-happy hours recently. The well continues to dry up now the battle tanks have left the front line. The sad reality is (despite aviation fuel dropping in price) - unlikely to get better. Better resume training for that ultra-marathon after all.

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

In recent times the $2000 PE return to LAX available for most of 2015 was pretty good.

Yep I am regretting not booking one of them. Don't have the leave sorted and not sure if I can do it but that was an outstanding deal.
I saw it a few times last year so I'm keeping fingers crossed it comes back. (With full plans to upgrade with points...)

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

I remember I scored $1 SYD-CBR flights from Happy Hour back in the DJ days.

it was $2200 yesterday and i rang them last night to see which PE flights were available for upgrade to J before booking...they were a bit busy because of happy hour, so i said i'd call back today...aaaand today the same PE flights are $3993

i'm not going until August 2015 - the chances of another PE sale between now and Aug 15 are good, yes?

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

quite a few on here took advantage of $200 J airfares

Did here for sure. I used it to do MEL/BNE in one day to ask the FIL (future at the time) for permission.

Not sure what was better the no worries or the SC's...

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

I have stopped looking at Happy Hour as there is nothing special about the airfares on offer. No different to the weekly sales.

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

i won't quote myself from the first page because that's creepy, but PE SYD-LAX-SYD $2200 again today...booked and upgraded to J...wwwweeeeee

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

I thought I'd look again.

Some OK happy hour deals SYD-MEL, MEL-ADL, OOL-SYD but SYD-BNE at $105 is not so cheery?

Won't be much to look at once Saver lite is removed from sale.

I've seen stuff that S class is sold out go on sale T/V/Q at a good price before. I have hope there will be good fares still!

This week was pretty focused on the points deal so not much in the short term but the week before was pretty good! I just was too busy to book anything during happy hour last week.

Re: Happy hours not so cheery anymore

It will be interesting to see what (if anything) comes up on the 19th ....the happy hour after the Saver Lite departure.
