Virgin Money credit cards (linked to Velocity rewards)

Hi everyone,

Looking through the different forums I notice that Virgin Credit cards dont have their own forum/section, which makes me think it is not a very popular card (hence no dedicated section). When I researched a new card about 6 months ago, the Virgin High Flyer card seemed the most generous on points for everyday spend - 1.25 points per dollar uncapped.

Assuming I am correct (that this is not a super popular card on the forum) I would love to hear any suggestions on which cards trump it for uncapped points earning on everyday spend.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I have had a High Flyer CC for a couple of years and I am more than happy with it. I have only had one problem and that was sorted promptly via the message system on the website. The points post on time every month.
This card works for me

There's plenty of threads in the VFF forum about this card and the issues with redeeming the free flights.

I personally love this card for the 2-4-1s as it more than pays for itself but hate it for the website which is appalling.

Got the 20000 bonus points in my third month (2nd part of the 30000pt offer). Posted automatically, no drama.

oops, thank you, you're quite correct (i knew there was a good reason the card sits in my drawer so it's never used)

Haha yes, it's the same with my NAB Qantas Visa (never used it since I received it).

It's finally happened! I just got the 10,000 bonus points. It only took 5 months.

I note that they did not post as bonus points like the 10,000 sign on points did.

Thanks bcworld, agree the new T and C are very smelly. Will make sure to book my two for one flexi fares (for points or platinum business upgrades) prior to 30 November. I now feel even better about ditching this card before Christmas.

Be wary of Virgin Money, I have a High Flyer card and have been very disappointed.
Every month, the number of Velocity points was incorrectly calculated, I was shortchanged. I was charged interest when I shouldn't have. Their phone/website security is too coughbersome way too many layers and long passwords required, plus you get timed-out very quickly. They charge an $89 additional cardholder fee. Finally, there is no smartphone app. There are better cards out there.

My early christmas present to myself will be cutting up this card and cancelling it and never having to call them again about their own web site problems or incorrect/missing points....

Woops, I guess I didn't think about the Family Pooling setup when Jnr#1 applied for this card. I just checked my Velocity account, and I have been credited with 10,000 bonus points from her signing up to this card. I guess I'll just keep track of the points and transfer them back to her when required. It would be better if you had an option in Family Pooling to pool just the status credits IMO.

Be good to hear how all you guys go with the Retention team when they pass you onto them as you're trying to cancel.

Does anyone know if you can register for 3D Secure (verified by visa) with this card?
