So the start / end dates for each month's minimum spend is from the date of card approval reading the comments. How long are people taking to receive approval and then how long after approval are people receiving their cards in the mail?

Just trying to get the application timing right (need to have some of January included in order to meet each months min spend).

Hi Arrow29,

I applied for the card (just the Flyer) on the weekend and was rung up today hassling me for my payslips. So I sent them through when I was free from meetings and received an email shortly thereafter confirming approval, so pretty quick for that. Will let you know how long it takes for the card to arrive.

Cheers

How does the flight voucher for this card work? Could you get the voucher and cancel the card?

Just wondering if you go way over in any month it will carry over or not?

Hi GSP,

Just wondering how long your card took to arrive? I am also trying to time this card to hit the spend!

Thanks!

Hi PDog,

Timely post - my card arrived today. Got home from work and activated it and setup an online account but was a little underwhelmed when I found out the Virgin Money App only works for home loans, not credit cards. So desktop online only.

So 9 calendar days (or 7 business days) from approval to card arrival.

Cheers

Great info - thank you! Does your online account have the statement period beginning on the date of card approval (ie 9 calendar days ago) as others have mentioned? I'm assuming from what others have posted there is relatively little time to hit the first month's spend limit if that's the case.

Well i have spent over $10K on this card and have yet to recieve a bill / Statement. So it will be interesting to see if they give all the points for the target spend in one month or expect further spends for 2 more months.

Am pretty sure you'll only get 1 month worth of points as the T&Cs refer to a spend of $3,000 or more for the first 3 months. Good luck though!

Hi Arrow29,

I've scoured the online website and cannot find where it says the statement period begins? Can you (or anyone) advise how I can find that?

Cheers

Hi PDog,

I thought it was $1500 each month for 3 months...which would equal $4500 if to receive the full 60k VFF points?

Cheers

The High Flyer is $3k per month / 3 month. but depends on what deal you got.

I'm not sure myself (timing my application to be in the next week or two), just going off what some people have said earlier in this thread. The only thing I can find is in the T&Cs:

"40,000 bonus Velocity Points will be awarded for every month $3,000 or more is spent on Eligible Transactions for 3 months from card approval."

I couldn't find anything in the online banking, so I just rang them and they were able to quickly give me the statement date.

Hi Raido8tiv,

What did they tell you in relation to the first statement date?

Cheers

I just said I could not find anywhere online that showed my statement date, and asked if they could tell me what the end of the current statement period was, the customer service rep just gave me the date and said it would be the same every month. My application was a bit difficult to follow that's why I decided to call, as I had initially been declined but I made them reopen the application and was subsequently approved. If and when I receive my bonus points I will promptly cancel and think twice before going for this card a

Received my statement today and was awarded points to my Velocity account. I had spent $11K over the month.

Problem is, i only received 16,000 Bonus points. WTF????

Ouch!!
That's a huge spend (for me at least!) can I ask what made up the bulk of it? Am planning on applying for that card this week, you have made me v nervous!
