This is an excellent card for paying bills in a convenient way at Australia Post offices. I am told that the is a trial self service machine at the City Cross PO in central Adelaide. I will let you lnow if I have any more info.
Be interested in PMs from anyone who has recently paid a cc bill from the not country bank

I will try that next week. I think that bank charges $2.50 for payments at the PO...

another self service bill pay machine on trial at Paragardens shopping centre at Salisbury. Thanks to the Pmer who let me know. The report is that it wasn't being used much
If there are any Oz Post lurkers here: guys you are on to a winner. Stop hiding your light under a bushel. Make it easy for us to find the self service machines. Educate your staff
And to the non country card holders there may be bad news about being able to pay with the excess card. I have personal experience. Would appreciate any very recent (as in in this month), reports. Either by PM. Or here...possibly a bit coded as my PMs indicate that there are a more people reading this thread than posting and that there are concerns that there is too much information here. lol some of it has already disappeared

Low rate options are nice. Anyone with a CBA card still should search for Great Rate - they don't really publicise that feature any more. Also CBA do credit points for XS.

Think you guys have figured a lot of it out. The advantage of a 3 stage system is it's less likely to get shut down as one single operator isn't being screwed.

Joshua, thanks heaps for the tip about the Great Rate offer. I have a CBA card and was totally unaware of this option. I am certain it will be used sometime

ANOTHER PM asking me to edit/delete posts. From someone who joined very recently and has made under 5 posts
My thoughts and paraphrase of my reply to the PMer: "It would be churlish of me to soak information out of AFF and not try to contribute something back. And BTW the card was first mentioned elsewhere."
Nevertheless let's stick to the excess card being a great way to pay certain bills and purchase certain things at the PO. Please be discrete here as some people are getting upset

(I always wonder how many of the people wanting to stop information exchange worked stuff out themselves. Or if they found out from someone else...at which point the information flow should stop?? Just asking)

Is it worth using the Shiny Stone Excess card and then when they offer 15% transfer of points to FF program?
Thats a 1.5 + 15% earn rate right?
Too long await?

Ok, for the people sending me PMs thinking that the might of AFF is going to bring down a commercial scheme run by xx_xx_x please read below:

xx_xx_X is a $25,159,000,000 company (source ASX)

Please don't insult me by thinking that that market cap and a profit of over a billion dollars in 2011 (asx) doesn't bring insight and a full understanding of stuff that they sell.

Another entity involved in this had "trading revenue" of 5 billion dollars in 2010-2011. (Source their 2010-11 annual report). Ditto.

Please don't insult me by suggesting that it's ok for YOU to do stuff but not others especially if they are outside of a particular circle.

IF the non country cards can no longer paid at the PO it was some months in the making and must be totally unrelated to anything that happened here.

MMMMM maybe people "in the know" abused their knowledge?

That said, anyone posting in this thread needs to be aware that there is a certain sensitivity about these matters. I do note that a lot of earlier posts have been deleted or edited

Looks like our favourite temperature card will accept payment too... Will test when my next bill is due.

I would be keen to find out too.
Sad about the "non country" card.

Hi Newk , looks like your inbox has become very popular , if you make room i'll give you something new .

done, thanks
LOL it'll likely fill up again though. Need to hunt around to see about paying for a higher level of membership. I wonder what cards they take ;)

Thanks everyone for the discretion with public posts.

Paid my road side assist bill at their office today using the XS. No hassle at all, swipe, savings, pin - done. Feeling brave fronted up at the PO to pay the rates, same deal over the counter. Don't feel the need to search out for self service machine.

Buying the card instore may not be the best course of action ;)

Maybe they accept an excess card.

I'm going to try something else shortly as soon as my cards arrive.

Anyone had any luck Depositing $$ into an account via EFTPOS using the excess card? At my local PO yesterday, the staff seemed convinced that I had to withdraw money first and then deposit it over the counter, as opposed to doing it electronically via the EFTPOS terminal.

background correspondence suggest that there is a LOT of operator dependence in what one is allowed to do with the XS card.
Please PM me if you wish to discuss :)
