Cracked the spend early in the second statement period but no bonus points to be seen. Another month of waiting methinks.
Hi guys
I just recently applied (last Friday) and got approved today however when Westpac send me the email of I’m approved it didn’t mention first year fee waived . What should I do or does anything have experienced dealing with this problem before ?
Wait until you actually have a problem before worrying about how to deal with it.
Agreed. I never received fee waiver confirmation and haven’t been charged for it.
Thanks just checking , I called them just then they said it was a mistake on their email sent out!Wait until you actually have a problem before worrying about how to deal with it.
I'd wait as this is common. But given you kept a copy of the original ad and your application based on a specific URL link, you'll be fine if a fee is charged at some stage in the future.Hi guys

Applied last week, can confirm zero fees on both cardsLooking at the current promo on Westpac, it appears that there are zero fees of any kind on either card for the first year i.e. literally nothing to lose. Can anyone confirm that?
Well that was what the offer was when it originally commenced. So seems to still be the same offer, although a new deadline (Offer ends 27 November 2018).Looking at the current promo on Westpac, it appears that there are zero fees of any kind on either card for the first year i.e. literally nothing to lose. Thank you; haven't had many cards before and just trying to confirm I won't be stung with a fee of some kind in the first year.Well that was what the offer was when it originally commenced. So seems to still be the same offer, although a new deadline (Offer ends 27 November 2018).
Well my wife has zero fees.Looking at the current promo on Westpac, it appears that there are zero fees of any kind on either card for the first year i.e. literally nothing to lose. Can anyone confirm that?
Statement #3 came in today and no bonus points. Time for a call...
Met the spend criteria during the 2nd statementWhen did you meet the eligible spend?
I wouldn't be wasting a phone call personally, as I know what they'll say already given it's only been at max 8 weeks since you hit the spend criteria.

I'm thinking of applying for this offer but it's a fair bit of dosh to get all 120k points, and not sure I would get approved anyway. Do payments to our friends in the territory count toward minimum spend for either cards bonus points? Feel free to PM.
I see from reading the thread that holding a current AMEX-issued AMEX is not a barrier to the 40,000 points which is good to hear.
Ok that's good to hear - Thanks.Such spend should be eligible spend for the Amex card, but it wouldn’t be for the Mastercard
