Card Offers Westpac Altitude Black offers: 120,000 Qantas or Velocity Points (expires 30/4/25)

Similar run around myself today after picking up my visa in the branch.

Westpac passed me around a couple of areas before sending me to to AMEX who said they don't have anything. Call Westpac again and they had a closer look... Looks like it didn't get 'sent' to AMEX so they have emailed them today whilst I was on hold. Not the best first impression...

Well I got my AMEX approved a couple of days after. Speaking of poor first impressions, they also SMS'd and emailed me that my Mastercard was available to pick up at the local branch; set some time aside to visit the branch - you guessed it, no card! Receptionist at the branch acknowledged their fulfilment comms were incorrect and is a known issue.

Met min spend criteria on both cards. I can see the bonus pending on the AMEX immediately after the qualifying spend posts, fingers crossed the Westpac side posts soon as have a few flights to book.

I wouldn't count on it. I'm now six week post spend on the Westpac and still nothing. Most people tend to be waiting a while.

Amex on the other hand comes through almost instantly.

Has anyone received the Qantas lounge passes? How long after the Qantas spend did you get it and did you get any notification?

Still waiting for the Westpac points to hit my account. Reached it last month so I'm sure it'll be another couple of months before I can cancel then.
I found mine came through fairly quickly from both cards. Easy points !

I reached the Westpac Mastercard spend just before the end of the 2nd month and received the points as part of my 3rd statement.

Had my wife on my card as a supplementary cardholder and removed her again a few weeks after hitting the spend. Last week applied for the cards for my wife herself and got approved a few days later. She still had to go in for identification even though that had been done when she picked up her additional cardholder card a couple months ago. Went in and started being questioned why she was an additional cardholder then got removed, then applied for her own card. They're clearly aware we're card churning especially after I put my Mastercard in the safe and didn't touch it again after hitting the $3k on it. Still got the card even after being questioned on it. Happy days.

Just applied for this. Conditionally approved. I then called to ask a related question (I had to put in an amount for something that was actually $0 - wouldn't let me continue otherwise) and they advised to send in payslips to an email address. Sent, and within the hour I was officially approved for the mastercard which was great. Received e-mail from AMEX at the same time advising they have received my application for assessment on their end and will get back to me in 5-10 working days.

Quite pleasing so far. Hopefully the AMEX comes through as well.

AMEX approved today. Very quick turnaround, impressed with Westpac. Just waiting on the cards.

Received 80K bonus from Westpac MasterCard in the second statement, met spend in the first fortnight.

AMEX will get transferred this month (3rd) after meeting spend in the last couple of days.

An easy and very cheap 120K QFF points in the end!

anybody waited for their points more than 3 statement periods?

My 3rd statement came through but no bonus points... I called them and they said to wait 90 days after meeting minimum spend. I did have a Westpac card but closed that in April 2017 so has been over 12 months since I last had one...

Got the AMEX points instantly...

Yep, Westpac are pathetic and regularly go over the 90 days from the spend. Then they say it's after the next statement, then they say and add a few days to that, and still there's no points. Perhaps we need a class action.

interesting. Are you in the same boat? Funny thing is I've been getting my regular points. I was initially unsure if paying rent would qualify as eligible spend but I got the normal points per $ for it so I'm sure it has. The operator confirmed that I met my minimum spend on the 27th August but I need to wait till 27th November..

Hit eligible spend in second period, bonus points came through in third (amex previously awarded in first)

I hit the eligible spend in my second statement and got the bonus and regular points a day or two after the statement was issued.

anyone have trouble with the bonus points not coming through but the regular points coming in as per normal?

Yes in the same boat. Hit the minimum spend early during the 2nd statement cycle but no bonus points yet, 4th statement will arrive next week so hoping for the points then otherwise I'll jump on the phone. As others have mentioned, Westpac are quoting that points can post upto 90 days after you hit the minimum spend.

Interested in hearing more on everyone's experience regarding Westpac bonus points (I didn't get the Amex also). Seems quite varied so far. I am still within the 90 day period but hit eligible spend within a couple of days of activating card. We will see.......
