What changes would you make to the Qantas Booking site?

Anybody else seeing it, e.g. SIN-HND for Sep 21 return Sep 28. calendar says business available but its redirecting back to calendar

same for SIN-PEK

Yep now I see what you're talking about.

That said, that's a sick amount of availability for premium seats on SIN/HND! (And you do you fly to HND... do JL have a direct service from SIN, or you have to go via somewhere...)

Time to report that bug to QF...and call Qantas about the award seat. It actually may be masking that there is no award availability........ *shrug*

Most run of the mill awards are working fine, though, from my experience.

For domestic, it is a combined document, as per its heading "E-Ticket Itinerary, Receipt and Tax Invoice"

The MYB page has something that suggests it would send the tax invoice again, but it is separate to the itinerary.

True. But that thing from MYB doesn't provide the invoice bit, despite what it suggests.

e-tickets can come in thousands of different templates, it's not a ticket just a piece of paper that refers to the virtual 'ticket' you hold in cyberspace. the qantas issued ones are just in their format and the ones I issue to my clients look completely different, and the ones flight centre issue would look completely different again.

As mentioned the issue is not the "e-ticket" format it's the invoice part of the qantas document. That why I think it's a good suggest to allow the document to be re-issued.

Well to be honest I am just 'shopping' and didn't want to book just yet so I don't want to call anyone. I should be able to do this online! The flights I would want would be with CX as they fly a better product to HND than NRT, but NRT and PEK are producing the same loop, back to the calendar page.

What Qantas.com send when you request an "e-ticket' email is variable.

It seems that some times you actually get a full itinerary with an e-ticket number similar to the original confirmation - most times you get something like this:

I am disappointed that I have to go back a page just to change a date. I used to be able to choose a different date on the flight selection page. And no, I don't want to 'see the cheapest flights around that date'!

Also, are there any clues to seeing what class I am booking/have booked into? Either before making the booking or from the MMB page.

Once you have booked the fare class is listed in MMB.

And I thought QF had fixed this one:

When I 'modify search' and enter a different origin, I am then prompted to enter a destination. After entering that, I am prompted to enter the departure and return date. I only wanted to change the origin, not the whole bl**dy thing!

Not quite.

The one I hate the most is when I have multiple legs on a multi-trip booking

A->B
B->C
C->D
D->C
C->B
B->A

If I change anything in the second leg the rest of the legs are cleared and I have to enter them all over again. Do this 4-5 times and it can get very frustrating.

yes all of that as well as no passengers so you have to go back and enter #pax again-

trying to organise a multicity round the world - FLEXIBLE FLEXIBLE FLEXIBLE with date is ticked but you tell me you can't find anything and maybe I should consider ticking FLEXIBLE...............I know what I am going to do for an hour on Monday morning - hope the CSO likes to do lots of searches for me.

I would just make it work with some regularity. Today even a simple earning points calculation wouldn't work.

Yes agree this is so silly - and what prompted me to search for this thread.
At the end of the day, I don't see any discernable improvement in the new booking website - which begs the question - why must they bother changing it - rushing it and doing half past six job at that?

Probably my only comment on this thread.

I would change the site back to what it was and start again with real improvements. Make it tablet, computer AND user friendly and fix the bugs before releasing it again :!:

Right now it is a pain and certainly no better and probably worse than it was. :evil:

now that's a good idea!!

very true AND they advertise fares available for $109 on the tab but none display - surely that is illegal advertising - Still you would shudder if you had QF shares in your portfolio because all these glitches just add up to people booking elsewhere like I did

JFC (expletive blasphemy) is there any airline in Australia (or the world) who can redesign a website that contains less bugs than a cow's anus? :evil: :evil: :evil:

Any deserving web designer out there must be feeling embarrassed for whoever had to design these sites...
