The English don’t vacuum, they Hoover!

Parents (Australian) used to have one of those Hoover Constellation that “hovered” When I was young.

I don’t use a top sheet so wash the quilt cover when I do my sheets. It’s easy peasy. I wish they would make more quilt covers with zips rather than buttons or press studs

We have one with a zip around 3 sides - makes it quite easy but the only problem is the colours are bleh. I bought a green one which sort of resembles hospital green. It's a king doona but a very light one and we have only just started to pull it up at night as it's turned cold. Usually we just have a sheet, cotton blanket and alpaca throw rug but a combination of cold weather and aging bodies seems to be taking its toll.

Not when it's used colloquially. Even Ugg can be used colloquially. Apparent Ugg is still being litigated.

Yes its not only a noun but a verb.
Dyson as a verb just does not sound as natural as Hoover the verb.

Brits may use Hoover to describe process of vacuuming but ive neverheard anyone use Vegemite generically. Vegemite is a specific food, you cant use it to mean the inferior Marmite or Promite or some other yeast extract based spread.

Whilst I agree with the rest of your list, this one is not really used colloquially. I've never ever ever ever heard anyone call that abomination of a substance called Promite (or even Marmite) Vegemite.

When people are referring to Vegemite they always actually mean the trade marked substance.

That's true. Basically no manufacturer other than Pro or Mar have any interest making a "-mite".

Marmite actually came before Vegemite - it was invented by some 19th century German chemist who also came up with what became marketed as Bovril and Oxo. Vegemite was basically an Aussie knockoff of the original.
