WCMO - I missed a call from Qantas about a refund (I was at lunch with friends and don't like taking calls especially from an unknown number)

The message was we're calling about your refund please leave the phone on and we will call you back within 2 hours - 6 hours later - no call

Order Confirmed

Have a great time at 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final Ballot Registration!

Ticketek taking your money $6 each, even if your team doesn't make it in the grand final.

Its almost like a rort by ticketek approved by the AFL.
Last time my team played in a GF I went in to a ballot for 6 tickets (6 memberships), the ballot was $10 per membership. Cost me $60 just to enter a random ballot where I may or may not get tickets. No tickets? No $60 back.

This is the one issue I have when not taking unknown calls. I usually look at location and it it's something like Glenrowan or Werribee I don't take it. But if it's something like waiting on a call back from tradies etc then you've got to take it. WCMO - spammers. And those dumba companies that want to talk to you about solar or electricity like they've invented something no one else has ever come up with.

WCMO is spammers too. There has been a recruitment agency spamming me lately and wouldn't unsubscribe (UK GDPR breach ....) me. Their DB is actually internet accessible with no security so I made updates to all records to append the text "WE SPAM YOU". Sure enough, when I got their next spam email today "WE SPAM YOU" showed up in it. That is now going out to the 80,000 people they are spamming. Perhaps I should make the text a little more humourous....

Wow... GDPR breach on at least two counts there.

I hope it's actually a real recruitment agency and not some robot based or fake one so there can be real consequences.

Not so much cheeses me off that surprises me. There’s a little coffee shop I pass on my way to my gym which I occasionally get a coffee from. Some mornings there are at least 15 cup tops on the bench, meaning 15 coffees waiting to be made. It’s about a 10 minute wait for a take-away coffee. Who has time for that?

When is like that I walk 30 m more to a chain bakery which makes perfectly good coffees.

I looked up the guy on LinkedIn and he seems to be spruiking an AI recruitment model... not so "I" as it may seem :)

One-time pin authentication and not sending SMS. Not an issue with my provider as I'm getting other SMS.

Ok so download the mobile app via Google Play. Spinning round and round over and over.

Thanks Citibank. Want to pay a bill and transfer some money today before going overseas. Absolutely useless.

They deprecated OTP via the app some time ago I believe, so it's SMS or nothing..... FWIW SMS from them are receiving fine to my UK mobile number.

Maybe change it to 'WE SPAM YOU AND HAVE RUBBISH SECURITY'

OTP is still possible via the app in Australia but I always choose SMS.

@JohnK check you have latest ap version and a supported device.

I think I've got zero hope in life. Everyone knows I'm a fraud right?

I cancelled my dad's Belong account that we used for 1 week as daughter ran out of TPG data and then TPG wanted to give us 2GB for the same price as we pay each month for 60GB. Smart right?

So I purchased a new Belong Sim for $35 with 100GB a month. This sim will be in my name. I activate the sim, I'm asked for credit card details (are companies still storing credit card details after all recent issues? Dumb yes!) and don't have much choice so I add credit card. Then add address.

At this point I expect to have a new Belong phone number, a brand new account so I can then transfer the TPG phone number that is in my name to Belong. Simple right?

Welcome Dad to Belong. Here's your old Belong number. For f..ks sake. I did not even get asked for a name. Surely most households in Australia have more than 1 person in them? And obviously I cannot even transfer number from TPG as it's an existing account not a new account.

We're going to Thailand tomorrow night. I specifically left it this late as we're gone for 3 weeks and I don’t want to pay another month of TPG but I also want daughter to have some data when we get back from Thailand.

Expect some fun tomorrow morning. Lucky we're already packed.

Something has gone a little funny there @JohnK, I can say that confidently as someone who has over time had at least 8 belong services across 3 distinct accounts all with the same address and CC details.

I do this firstly because myself, wife and child have belong SIMs but I am basically central IT so never does a bill or notification cross their path lest I be fired.

The second reason is that I acquired a ton of Telstra plus points and with little to spend them on, if there ever appears a reason to (eg were going on a trip and would like a SIM for the iPad, even my work laptop so I could teams while in transit) I just burn 10K Telstra plus points on an $80 starter kit which I activate as a data Sim, use till it is depleted and then cancel the service.

Never once have I ever been given a number back. Funnily enough once I got a number assigned which I quite liked so I ported it out to Telstra and am planning to switch over to that as my primary SIM so I'd almost like your scenario so I could save having to pay more later, but I might also look at other providers with similar commercials to Belong and port again to somewhere else.

Either way they are super clear, you have to confirm twice when you cancel even a data service that you will lose the associated number (that you can't even use if it's a data SIM since it can't do calls or text) so getting it back is somewhat of a win in some people's books.

WCMO ……… is getting brain freeze at 17:58 when trying to finish your 3rd frozen margarita el pronto cause happy hour finishes at 18:00
My colleague invited us out the other day for the Happy Hour.

I think she polished off at least five... but she managed to get non-frozen ones in the Happy Hour.

This went over my head twice. It's what you get when not paying attention.

Data only sim - Mobile broadband

Not sure why it was necessary to rename mobile broadband.

Anyway they would not budge on the issue so I went and bought another data only sim. After activating I realised I had the wrong sim but once activating cannot go back.

Belong will now credit my account with for $35 from dads account and I have 100GB to use until 17 October and then I can have another 100GB for next month.

So I've wasted $70 on the wrong sim. Silly mistake.
