What cheeses me off

Minor cheese:
Being told by Capt. Speaking as we commence descent that “I hope you’ve enjoyed your journey with us and the fabulous <insert airline here> service”. If I was comfortably seated in J it is likely I’d agree with the statement.

Except on this occasion, I and the majority of the pax on the plane, were seated in whY and I hated almost every minute of the cramped conditions. This in SQ Y on a relatively short SIN-BKK sector…

So many people in BKK at the moment. I think that's you, JohnK and family, Hvr and myself and Mrs FB.

This morning from Amazon I bought security camera because we have a new build across the way and the size of the trucks doing three point turns and we are a monty for damage. Now, my emails are being bombarded by security camera emails.

Am currently doing intense phsyio to try and avoid knee surgery.

Ordered some exercise aids online on morning of 12th from Amazon mostly because promised speedy free delivery by Friday 15th Sept, so I can exercise properly between appointments.

The seller reckons they mailed it on 13th and has provided a tracking number which AusPost says does not exist; I know it can take up to 24 hours for tracking to be visible online but its been 4 business days (plus a weekend) so am positive the seller is full of s***.

So WCMO is con-artists sellers selling via legit portals and fact that Ive lost a week without the devices I need to ensure a speedier recovery.

Have to wait til Wednesday before Amazon will give me a refund; and I can shop elsewhere. If refund not processed by lunch time on Wednesday will be doing a chargeback.

WCMO check in at Altura hotel, Adelaide airport

I won’t say I’ll never stay here again, but I’ll certainly look at the convenience of other choices depending on my flight time.
The lo-fi version of that (this was over 10 years ago now) was a hotel in Auckland that required me to call a number (and of course I was on roaming) when I arrived so I could complete "check in", the main part being giving me the combination to a door safe to access my check-in documents and room keys.

The website of the hotel claimed check-in was possible up to some late hours but to advise if arriving after a certain time.

Streaming services where you pay a fee to watch per month, or what ever, then they dangle the first episode at you for free, then expect you to buy the next episodes. :(

Bring back “goldies”, I say………. :)

So first day back in Thailand for 3 week trip.

I love my daily horse betting and the occasional soccer multis. Most of my betting done via Bet365 as they have best odds guarantee and the rest done via Sportsbet/TAB using free VPN.

Can't put a bet on via Bet365. This wasn't the case in April but looks like they've gone out of their way to block betting. You can view your account and the bets you made but cannot have a bet.

Cannot use VPN connected to Australia either as they block access to Bet365 if you try to use VPN.

I'm stumped and extremely disappointed that Bet365 have gone and continue to go out of their way to block betting based on geolocation. Very poor customer experience. And no use trying to use customer care. They simply don't care.

Now stuck doing all betting via Sportsbet/TAB with their poor odds on offer.

Continuing on with the subscriptions…

I subscribe to an online news outlet. Every now and then I get an email begging me to upgrade my “Digital starter” to “Premium”. Apparently this gives me access to some other cough I’m never going to read. Today I received another “special offer”..

WCMO is that I’ve spent my whole life thinking that complimentary essentially meant free… not $4.50 extra a week.

So this really cheeses me off. DIL is really strict about her children’s privacy. No photos at all on social media. I’m fine with that. So yesterday I took photos of granddaughter and they stayed only on my phone. Only.

Today I look on my FB and there is Grandaughters photo. I have my FB set to Friends only and three have seen it. I do show my friends photos but only on my phone. I did not give any consents for FB to grab this. Now deleted. How did we let this happen?

Remember all the cough that went on when The Australia Card was being introduced in the eighties. Needless to say it didn’t get up, but now your phone/online accounts probably have more information about you than that card ever would have had. :)
