What cheeses me off

I did the postal one, as I didn't want to face the barrage, and the chance of getting assaulted.
But when I mentioned the v here, as an OP, my thread got deleted.
Guess the AEC knew and gave a bit more leeway for allowing postal votes this time round.

It's usually like that in Oz but this one was very different from the get go. 1/3 voted in pre poll or postal votes.
Not sure what you were referring to.... but I was referring to being hassled by multiple parties out front to vote for them.

I don't know if this counts, as it's kind of within my control and what not, however...

...so when you fuel up at Coles Express in QLD, you can benefit from using a Flybuys fuel voucher (spend $30 at Coles) as well as a promotion from Linkt.

The problem is you walk from your vehicle to head inside and start the Linkt app to activate the promotion barcode. Then you head to Flybuys app to ensure the fuel discount is activated and ready to go.

Apart from being fiddly, this is all compounded when the app takes its time loading and then the mobile network decides to be slow or MIA which causes the entire thing to go much slower or timeout.

I'm not dumb enough to go straight to the counter and make an idiot of myself wasting time at the counter.

WCMO is having to go through all that and the phone or mobile network decides to **** itself and waste your time. *shakes fist at Optus*

The attendant behind the counter today actually yelled out to all customers in the store to have all discounts ready to go. Obviously when I had to do the app dance to bring up both discounts, he didn't really like that. I joked with him, "In the future, it'll be *simulates scanning a gazillion barcodes, a bit like extreme couponing*". Must have been the wrong thing to say, as he shot back with a very ****** off mutter, a la I don't get paid enough to put up with this **** (also, the bloke looked like he'd only had 2 hours of sleep).

If only their coding was a bit better, one good thing about the Lidl app is that the barcodes are already available so just load up even if offline and away you go.

Missed the democracy sausage!
I will bring cash or card the next fed election comes around.
Since 2010, I have handed out how to vote cards for one of the parties in South Aust, but they are now going downhill, so maybe the May 2025, I will support the Scouts by buying one of their sausages.
I do support the Bunnings charity sausage and bread basic sando of course.

Accommodation listings which have gone all Instagram with their property photos. I want to see the bedrooms, living spaces, balcony etc. Instead I get close ups of a coffee cup, the pillows on the couches, the hallway mirror and designer soap dispensers in the bathroom. Tells me nothing about the actual property. Tells me everything about the owners.

Those people who tell you to vote one way or the other stationed just outside polling locations, armed with flyers.

No, WCMO is those people who yell at you, thrust flyers in your face and virtually don't let you pass until they've rattled off their entire spiel essentially saying you vote my way or you are an idiot.
Easy to ignore them by walking with your hands behind your back and do not make eye contact.

Oh I hear you. This is one of the pictures on mine. I mean, seriously? There are just three photos. And this is one of them.

I think it ought to be mandatory for all hotel sites to include a picture of the room and the bathroom. So many dont show the bathroom, so I assume they are hiding a SHUB (its not always noted int he description) and therefore eleminate them from my options.

Often if you go to hotels.com or booking.com you get better visual and description information about the hotel room than you do on the official site (Accor is the worst offender I think).

Totally agree
The aggregator websites inform my decision before booking w hotel. If there is any doubt I communicate with the hotel to have on record what I have booked. Shubs should be outlawed

I agree totally with not showing pillows, glasses, flowers and so on except. - this was taken from booking.com. Booking.com is normally good but they dropped the ball, remote control, on this one.

I do not care if they show that extra artsy stuff provided they do show the room proper and the bathroom. Some hotel websites are getting better; but looks like bookings.com is getting worse.

Good to know.

TripAdviser can be good for sussing out places. Especially a bunch of peeps who feel the need to post photos of mouldy baths and showers….😁 (There was a lot of that coming out of Covid).

Totally agree. I want to see how much room I have in the room and, especially, the bathroom. Nothing worse than finding a bathroom with a tiny bath that you need to be a contortionist to get in and out of and nothing to stop you falling and breaking bones trying to negotiate the shower over the bath. Give me a walk in shower every time.

IMO if a hotel / holiday rental does not have a picture of the bathroom it means it's crummy/old/small/no walk in shower. And another important issue is there must be a Nespresso machine (or equivalent) - if it's not in the description or in the photos of the mini-bar then you can be sure there won't be one. (One hotel I stayed recently - did not have a Nespresso m/c even though the description said it did - reception claimed my room type did not have one - well I got that sorted pretty quickly).
