What cheeses me off

Not fussed about nespresso as I much prefer barista coffee, but pretty much every hotel room I've stayed in the last 12 months (except for 10 nights on a tour where I didn't choose hotels) has had one, even in the USA. Not that I used any of them.

noting some properties will make available on request.

There is even a law firm devoted to this

@Lynda2475 - you've been very lucky with Nespresso machine - this is most certainly not my experience even at high end properties; e.g. Marriott at FRA to name just one.
I’m too much of a coffee snob - hate the taste from these and don’t like to drink from cups provided at hotel

Seems common at IHG (Indingo, Voco) might help to be Diamond I score a few upgrades and some of the independents. But maybe when we review on various threads we need to mention it.

Often im paying extra for a walk in shower I suspect that upgrade gets the nespresso too.

I did the postal one, as I didn't want to face the barrage, and the chance of getting assaulted.
But when I mentioned the v here, as an OP, my thread got deleted.
Guess the AEC knew and gave a bit more leeway for allowing postal votes this time round.
There was a very clear message from mods that the referendum was not to be discussed at all - probably playing it safe as could have degenerated into a political free for all, even though that was not what you intended with the thread.

My gov sucks. The instructions were as below - looks straightforward and I'm quite computer literate but just gave up and put the form in an envelope - what a waste of time and resources.

If you can claim online

I think it ought to be mandatory for all hotel sites to include a picture of the room and the bathroom. So many dont show the bathroom, so I assume they are hiding a SHUB (its not always noted int he description) and therefore eleminate them from my options.

Often if you go to hotels.com or booking.com you get better visual and description information about the hotel room than you do on the official site (Accor is the worst offender I think).
Google Maps and their reviews often provide a better insight.
TripAdviser can be good for sussing out places. Especially a bunch of peeps who feel the need to post photos of mouldy baths and showers….😁 (There was a lot of that coming out of Covid).
TripAdvisor - off to the grammar thread for you, sir.

Purchased a vehicle from a dealer mid September. Included registration, stamp duty, TAC etc on the invoice.
Picked up vehicle, shiny new number plates. Received copy of registration papers. In Victoria you essentially get a VicRoads invoice which then becomes the rego certificate when its paid.
This morning checked online to see when the rego of my other vehicle expires. Out curiosity checked my new car rego.
Turns out there's no record of it.
Called VicRoads, seems the dealer hadn't processed the plate allocation correctly. Essentially I've been driving an unregistered (and therefore uninsured and no TAC coverage) vehicle for a month. I shudder to think what would have happened if I'd had an accident and someone was injured.
So my new car is sitting in the driveway unable to be driven until the dealer sorts it out. To say I'm cheesed off is an understatement.

WCMO - The two 14yr punks who just burnt down a Woolworths and associated shops and caused between $15-$25M damage. These idiots will claim some BS excuses of child interference or neglect or dad told me off once in my life or I'm 0.01% autistic and will get off with some pathetic punishment!

What about all the lives that they now have changed? People who have to drive elsewhere to shop, employees who have no job, fire fighters who risk their lives etc etc.

I'm sick of punishments not matching the crimes.

I am just waiting to hear the excuses. This will have massive impact on the local area for years. There just Aren't that many easy options for residents, let alone those who will lose their jobs. On the other hand 14 year olds do stupid things, even the good kids. But if they have a record then they should know the consequences. Sounds like they were doing something stupid in the aerosols section.

The inflexibility of theatre tickets. The show you want to see is only selling tickets until 31 Dec, so you buy tickets on the least imperfect timing before then, and a week later they open up sales for January, when the first week of Jan would have been much better timing for you and your two nephews you are taking, as well as better seating.

WCMO is people who think that the Grammar Thread can be used to berate people who may or may not have perfect spelling or grammar. ;)
'Cos that's not what it is for.

I agree. Some contributors maybe do not have English as their first language but their input is just as important as anyone else.

I do get annoyed though having to work out what some people are saying as they have 'fat fingers' on the phone and you really cannot have to decipher what they are trying to say.

There is a huge difference between a typo im vs I'm and poor grammar (using words incorrectly). I am breaking in a new device and it seems to not register the ' nor auto capitalise i per the previous model.

So WCMO is petty comments that are not even valid.

Doesn't happen in the UK, much more calm!

Forgetting about referendums, in regular elections, I'm guessing "how to vote" cards are less of a thing there, with first past the post system. In preferential voting, they of course play a significant role for directing the preferences of those who don't have the interest, time or capacity to understand what the views, prejudices and policies (if any ;) ) of the different candidates are, and thus can really influence the outcomes of elections, and that is why there is such aggression as people walk into polling stations.

But as someone who is registered as an overseas voter, I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be free of not only those who thrust bits of papers in your face, but campaign ads, daily photo ops in the media and the general ever presence of $$$ that goes into trying to influencing your vote.

WCMO is morons.

Was reading this story this morning over breakfast:

…but the story is not the problem, well not this mornings problem. Instead it’s this moron:

May your panels be scratched by bike handles as kids try to manoeuvre past your moronic parking.

those people who yell at you, thrust flyers in your face and virtually don't let you pass until they've rattled off their entire spiel
It might actually be illegal to be doing that at a polling booth. Campaigning is forbidd within 6m of a polling booth entrance or within a polling place. Of course what constitutes apolling place. If it's a public school, is it anything inside the fence line?

In my case the fence line is 50m from the hall inside where you need to vote, but there is only one gate in and out of that school fence open so you do not have a choice, you need to brave the gauntlet of fanboys with flyers harassing you.

Hawkers should be illegal at polling places, it's annoying and wasteful. Just allow each party to place 1 poster size guide on wall at polling place which people unable to follow simple instructions or make up their mind can reference and let everyone else just get on with it.
