...but ...but ....'Straya!!Grafitti against Woolworths for not stocking poor selling chinese made tacky Australa Day rubbish which is just desigend for landfill. Definition of stupidity IMHO.
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
I don't know if you saw this but it was teenage boys setting aerosol cans alight. Not only did it destroy the Woolies but a number of other small boutique shops some of which will never recover or returnWhat is wrong with bogans' brains (Yes I know it's Brisbane, where I live as well.)
"
Police have been called to Woolworths Metro in Teneriffe following multiple reports of someone setting off a flare inside the building and graffitiing pro-Australia Day tags on the walls.
Officers were called the Commercial Rd business just after 5am on Monday to discover the graffiti, which read ā5 days 26 Jan ā¦ Woolies cough* uā."
"Residents have already taken to social media responding to the morningās incident.
āWhatās going on in the hood!!! Drove round to Woolies Metro this morning and it had been vandalised and broken into,ā one commenter said. Police were called to an incident at the Woolworths Metro in Teneriffe, with reports a flare had been let off inside and Australia Day graffiti found inside. āSome moron spray painted anti-Woolies Jan 26 messages and other possible damage,ā said another."

Not very patriotic behaviour, is it!I don't know if you saw this but it was teenage boys setting aerosol cans alight. Not only did it destroy the Woolies but a number of other small boutique shops some of which will never recover or return
Not rationalising the vandalism. People these days are mindless. But it's not really about the tacky goods but the message, isn't it. it takes away consumer choice. Effectively censoring it. What's next? What is wrong with bogans' brains (Yes I know it's Brisbane, where I live as well.)

I drove by Woolies HQ the other day and someone drilled an Australian flag into their entry signage, the very large one thats made out of stone so some damage would have been done to attach it........ Not really. One can still buy tacky landfill goods from many sources. Donāt see why they āmustā stock cheap Asian made rubbish when it doesnāt sell anymore? Not rationalising the vandalism. Maybe I'm being overly cynical (and without wanting or seeking to initiate any sort of debate on the topic), but my gut feel is that it's more an exercise in the Woolies execs pondering "...how can we make a political statement without actually making a political statement?" Saying it's not selling anymore might be 100% true. Then again, it might be a convenient excuse to minimise public backlash. But maybe I'm totally wide of the mark? Not really. One can still buy tacky landfill goods from many sources. Donāt see why they āmustā stock cheap Asian made rubbish when it doesnāt sell anymore?

Or when the real reason is that they demanded more money from the supplier for shelf space and the supplier refused to pay up, so the big chain simply drops the supplier. Nothing to do with sales numbers. Nothing to do with customer preference. Just punishment for some smaller company refusing to pay extortionate fees.WCMO is when retailers tell us that items aren't selling anymore but that is because they took them off the shelves long before their announcement.
No Iām not getting into Jan 26 etc but if thereās a buck in it they would sell it. My quoted was about fake nationalism as a excuse for frankly just stupid behaviour. I must add egged on by dog whistling politicians.Ok. WCMO is when retailers tell us that items aren't selling anymore but that is because they took them off the shelves quietly long before their announcement. Fantales comes to mind. The consumer has no way of challenging those statements and they simply aren't always true.
Surely you don't believe what comes out of Woolworths PR machine?
Whether or not you can source them elsewhere is irrelevant.
This isn't to get into a discussion on Jan 26 because that is fraught. It's about a retailer making social statements
I dunno. The East coast lads seem to get far more involved in it than South Aussies do. Used to be much better when there was an Aussie cricket Test match on. And I suspect Woolies made assumptions about referendums and didn't order anything In time.No Iām not getting into Jan 26 etc but if thereās a buck in it they would sell it.
