What cheeses me off

Cheeses me off to have to make a doctor's appointment to get new scripts.......

Yes, that's really a stupid waste of a GP's time. At my last GP's place (before it closed) you could simply re-request scrips at the reception and pay $10. New place (owned by the same corporate body) wants an appointment - at least you can do it telehealth, but that still costs me over $50 after rebate (from memory).

.... very slow checkin process.

Yes I do understand there are staff shortages but checkin shouldn't be this slow.

Miss Qantas First class checkin.

Along the same lines. GP books up weeks in advance. Saw her last week and because of steroi_s wanted me to have a bone scan which I did this week. Yesterday received a text that results have arrived and need to make another appointment. Checked schedule and next available is in another month! The day before we leave for Overseas. Yeah nah. If it’s that urgent then in the good old days the GP would call.

These days I make a 'spec' appointment for my GP for a time a week before I go overseas, in case something last minute crops up. I know that's selfish, but if I need it, I'll need it. If not, someone else will be very grateful for the last-minute availability!

I don't want to know bad news before I travel. For something that hasn't just cropped up but rather a chronic management issue. It can wait.

Mechanical bath and hand basin plugs. What about an old fashioned plug. Easy to work out how they work and simpler and cheaper to replace.

I'm fortunate!

Called this morning 8am to make a 10:40am appointment at my local GP clinic, choice of doctor.

Attended, diagnoses and treatment prescribed. Asked to make an appontement for tomorrow afternoon and did so on the way out.

All bulk billed. We have been using them for over 2 decades.

A nearby restaurant did a relaunch after C19, it's within walking distance and the food, whilst basic is ok.

I recently took a friend there on Sunday morning and all was good. Not too busy and the staff were friendly, we were served quickly and when talking with the staff mentioned that I lived nearby and was hoping to become a regular. Smiles all round.

I went there again about five days later with another mate, the staff recognised me and we ordered. The starters came out quickly enough, but then everything seemed to go to custard. Nearby tables that arrived after us were getting their meals before us. I asked where our meals were and was repeatedly assured they were coming.

Then watched several meals get taken to outside tables, again arrived people who arrived after us and asked again. Same response. All of the meals were burgers of various combinations which is what we ordered.

After waiting for an hour I nodded to my mate, we stood up and went to the register and I asked for bill for what we had consumed. The manager came out and started to get angry with us and said our meals were coming soon. When I asked why the delay he couldn't answer, nor could he find our order. No apology for the delay, just contempt.

Well good luck with the restaurant, I wont be back.

We stopped at the nearby fish and chip shop on the way home and raised our bag of food to the staff as we went back to my place.

An iPhone that when you type in the address for the login page for a cruise ship's wi fi comes up with a message - can't log in to that page as you are not connected to the internet. Occurs 2 of every 3 attempts.

Simple. Connect to wifi first! :)

The IPhone. It doesn’t list Apps on phone in alphabetical order so you have to remember what the icon looks like. I reckon each time it’s a multiple scroll through to find the right one.

Edit - this isn't just to find the app, but in the mobile data settings where you turn mobile data on or off.

you can search if you know the name though although sometimes you can't remember what it is called

Actually it does. if you scroll through to last page where the App library is and place the cursor in the search bar, all the apps are listed alphabetically
