What cheeses me off

It’s just user unfriendly
Xero is easy peasy. I don't know about MYOB cloud but Xero has cash coding which allows you to select similar transactions and annotate them all at once without individually doing it

So I can even select the entire screen of say deposits which are the same nature and annotate one line and Xero automatically does the same for all the selection.

That's European drivers for you! Don't sit in the fast lane as idiots do here. You'll get them queing up to smell your exhaust pipe flasing lights and shouting at you. :)

I went from MYOB non cloud to Xero cloud. Best move ever.
if it is in the cloud why would any updating affect the user?
I have no idea. Makes no sense to me either. But there you go. If you want to work on the PC and not the cloud, although accessing the cloud (cloud connects using app.myob.com while computer using the MYOB programme accesses the cloud also but through the programme) then you have to update the PC

how are you coping with the driving and the tolls?

I remember the days when you had problems with a fridge that was under warranty you'd call the company and someone would be out in a few days to check.

For the past 10-15 years there's been a shortage of technicians whether they are electricians, plumbers, tilers etc and there's no push to get this fixed.

So with fridge issues contact Good Guys concierge who place a service call with LG designated repairer and days later they contact and ask for video recording of the noise from the fridge. So send them video but after about 1 week noise stopped so no one came out then noise started again and then stopped and then started again so I cancelled the service request. Why? If there's no issue when they come out they charge $150 + overtime? Seriously? I give up.

So now have a fridge that has a loud whirring noise that can last for weeks then stops for a few days then starts again.

The greed in this world is amazing. I buy a faulty product and have to go through hoops to get it fixed. Should be automatically replaced without the hoops.

The whirring noise could be because the fridge is not level. We had that happpen to our fridge afterit was moved to clear out the floor under the fridge. When we replaced it , it started making a weired sound which went away after we re-levelled the fridge properly

Its a standard charge if they dont find anything wrong - which is a PITA if its an intermittent issue

I can't tell if fridge is level or not.

The whirring noise is definitely intermittent and sometimes it can be quite loud and other times not really noticeable.

Surely an 'intermittent issue' (with video evidence) is still an 'issue', even if it can't be replicated at the specific time the technician comes out? I'd tell them to shove their fee.

A few years back we bought a new fridge from DJs and had it delivered and installed. The thing was so noisy we had trouble sleeping. I did some googling and apparently was a common complaint with that particular model. I rang DJs and they said call the service agent. I called the service agent and they advised they would look at it if I organised and paid to ship it to them to examine as they don't do house calls.

I called DJs back and demanded to speak to a supervisor, advised them of the run-around from their sales staff and the repair agent and asked if they have ever heard of the trade practices act and the SELLERS responsibilities if the item was not fit for purpose. I was asked if I would mind coming down to the store and picking out any replacement fridge any brand off the floor and they would have it delivered the same afternoon and collect the noisy one.

I would keep a log, video, audio then if the technician says nothing wrong I would go back to retailer and say Australian consumer law etc etc.

I can't tell if fridge is level or not.
Get a spirit level
You can also use a smart phone which has a measurement app which also shows inclination

It’s just user unfriendly despite having used it since 1996!
MYOB is user hostile. Fortunately my accountant changed to Xero years ago and I haven't looked back. Too easy.

But we in cars are all overtaking the trucks. Unfortunately a caravan is too, so the cars back up a bit.

If they start flashing lights in this circumstance, I just ease off the accelerator a bit. I don't mind the shouting 😀
how are you coping with the driving and the tolls?
The first day on the freeways, going up the Rhine to Trier, I switched over to Germany to avoid the tolls.

Yesterday, came down on the French side and all went well until the ticket I got when I entered the freeway was rejected at the pay machine, the other end. What the hell do you do then? I and the car behind me backed up and I put the flashing lights on and desperately looked for a booth with a person. None.

Tried another lane and thankfully it worked. I hate French toll roads!!

^ French ATM ate my ATM card, the bulletproof-looking cover on the ATM dropped & the screen went an angry red like some AK47-equipped drones were about to descend and pepper me with bullets for having the tenacity to use an Oz-origin card in their machine …

I get the impression they're obviously not interested. I paid $1000 for the fridge and I think now it's out of warranty.

I'm more concerned with the lack of service today and it's getting worse. Almost every company the same.

May I ask which brand of ATM & card?

You don't need to go to France to get that special treatment, Melbourne's freeways can do that for you also, particularly Peninsula Link!

The official warranty may not mean anything. One or two years for a fridge may be what the seller offers, but well short of your consumer rights.

I had a dishwasher fixed free of charge over 7 years outside of the manufacturer’s warranty, but still covered (for free) under my consumer rights.
