What I ate today - the food thread

Txoko Brewing in the Swan Valley for lunch today. The founders are of Basque origin. Today the occasion was the return of my son's partner from her visit to Taiwan to show off their 7 month old son to her family. The weather was very pleasant at a little over 20 C.

The table and view - with the Darling Ranges in the background. The food was very nice and pretty much what you would expect from a brewery in the Swan Valley.

Afterwards we drove about 1.5 km down the road and had a quick look at Bells Rapids on the Swan River. Lots of kids were swimming there.

Some unusual things at the Kimpton Bangkok breakfast buffet. first chipotle potatoes instead of hash brown. I thought they were nice, others didn't.

Kale French toast. no way.

Flossed pork. It does taste like pork flavoured fairy floss. Again I actually liked it

The okra is from my vegetable garden, 3 different colour baby capsicum from hill tribers and light purple coloured long egg plant purchased at Saturday market.

Boy that went down quick. Have enough vegetables for 2 more lunches.

We are not buffet people but today went to the Hokkaido themed buffet and the all day restaurant at the IC Tokyo Bay. Cost ~ $A75. Well worth it with sushi, sashimi rice bowl and tempura made as you ordered them.
Plus excellent roast beef with wasabi “inclusions “,good salads, snow crabs and lots of desserts.

Dinner at Pre Aux Clercs in Dijon. We all went with the set menu. I had the Blue Flower Potato, Tuna and Like a Creme Brûlée (see menu photo below). Mrs Scash had the other set menu choice and all were absolutely delicious. A glass of Cremant to start followed by a nice red.

NOK Lounge - DMK

Only a very small lounge but I was pleasantly surprised with the food on offer. Also had bottled water and various soft drinks.
