What I ate today - the food thread

Today for lunch at The Tea House at Nelson Bay (NSW) - avocado on toast with salad, goats cheese and balsamic. Damn I could have eaten two.

What made it taste even better was the view. I'm coming back

I've just discovered avocado and sour cream with 9 bread rolls.

So much for dieting....

It's a nod to Mexican sans tortilla, chilli, meat sauce etc.
They had that in the OOL VA lounge tonight. Must be trying to copy Qantas. The chicken and beans stew filling was too spicy. Avocado and sour cream were really nice.

We bought and ate a 'hand' of lady finger bananas from this lady, cost about 20 cents. Given the storms in Australia, who knows when we'll be able to eat bananas there. :)

Don't have pics of the food, but had my 30th bday dinner tonight at a Lebanese restaurant in south east Melbourne. We ordered 12 dishes - ranging from dips, felafel, meat cigars, skewers, fried cauliflower, salads, fish, lamb dishes and more - plus bday cake for each side of the table. Delicious. But so full right now! What a banquet!

Delicious food at Cookie in Melbourne. There was pork belly red curry, curried chicken with egg noodles and soft shell crab.

One of the classic Rockpool dishes (they're showcasing them as part of the Eleven Bridge farewell) - scampi scrambled eggs.

Beyond amazing and would go back purely for that dish.

I cooked a Beef Wellington yesterday (using a Gordon Ramsay recipe). It was delicious. [...]

This looks so yummy!

I made texas beef chilli in the slow cooker on saturday. Two things learned. 1, If its "texan", there is WAY too much chili and cayenne pepper and 2, the recipe made enough for Saturday dinner, Sunday dinner and left overs to freeze.

Windy Point Adelaide - always excellent food and service. They usually ask why you're there and I had a friend from overseas and so they bought out the complimentary mini desserts and decorated plate.

Today has a bit of chocolate going.
My favourites are:
Hotel Chocolat when in London
Royce when in Narita
and Kirkland chocolate macadamias when in Costco Marina del Rey.
