What I ate today - the food thread

Just part of an amazing Turkish Van style breakfast - we had a plate of flat bread, plain cake, borek and other roll type things, a bowl of scrambled eggs with feta, tomato and capsicum, some haloumi and also spicy sausage. Olives at the end too.

My dinner tonight. Lentil soup and wine. Laugh you may, at the simple fare, but this was enjoyed piping hot in a very cool evening, as I sat on a deck overlooking the Pacific. Accompanied by some "house wine", and the sound of waves breaking and dogs barking in the distance. Bliss :)

Gaaaahhhh - you are winding me up, mate! ;):):):)

Mind you, my pizza and Brazilian Merlot in Foz do Iguacu tonight wasn’t too shabby for look and feel either...;):).

Aaaahhh, gotta love S America - muy bueno :). But I do wish they wouldn’t insist on Portuguese in Brazil. I get very confused and keep reverting to my extremely limited and highly fractured Spanish and then try to retreat...:p

All fun ;):D.

I have been known to partake in a few bottles of that wine

I absolutely hate portuguese - can read it, but speak? No way! And I am led to beleive by my real portuguese acquaintences that what they speak in Brazil is ..... well, not real portuguese :)

Lunch as a precursor to the main event tonight.

Went to a clients house this afternoon and they are Haka Chinese. Need their daughter to translate as their English is okay but difficult to explain some concepts/strategies. The mother always makes interesting food.

This was merely layered jellies:

Next was Pandan cake - light and almost don’t feel like you’ve eaten anything. Had to have 2 slices whilst I listened.

Last night, dinner @ HI Parramatta with daughter after a long day. Still needing something warming. Not quite falling off the bone but an easy pull.

Had to have dessert (Belgian waffles with strawberries, vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge sauce)
