Where does your AFF username come from?

Given this thread is all about explanations, would you please explain the above. The only google search I could come up with referenced AFF posts. There were no hits for the TV show mentioned in one of the posts.

You might say that, but I could not etc ... from a well known TV series

Mine is a nickname i've had since I was a teenager, Boca, loosely based on my initials. Lets just say I used to hit the video game parlour a lot and when I entered a high score, I used Boca. Long before I knew what it meant in Spanish.

But, my friends had a laugh when we did discover it was actually a word. (it's spanish for mouth, save those who don't know, from looking it up) Funny, because I was (and still am) a bit of a talker!

And 68, is just my birth year, hence Boca68 was created.

because I feel like a plebeian when I look at my 11,800 points :) and can't figure out how to MS after weeks of research...

I used to have a much more obvious handle but changed it to match my Flyertalk handle. I am the original QF WP but sadly no longer WP on either airline.
My name was born at the inaugural meeting of FT members that I organised (hereafter known as the QF AGM) in 2003. Let's just say there was a lot of alcohol (beers) imbibed during said meeting and my original FT handle was being spammed into oblivion by some lowlife on FT who didn't like my commentary in a particular thread and somehow found my email address and signed me up to hundreds of things that started an email flood.

Mine is a nickname bestowed on me when a member of a winter swimming club...not sure why.;) It was embroidered onto a beanie presented me for an award so I figured I'd keep using it away from that environment.

Very interesting thread indeed!

Mine is pretty obvious and probably borderline douchey. I am a Dr and I work in intensive care.

It all started after I bought a VW Golf R and joined the vwgolf forum. Where my Username is ICUdR

Plain but I love my job

I've worked in the lead smelting and metals industry for just on 36 years and known throughout the industry worldwide. Some refer to me as Dr Lead but a title I'm not fond of. Always remember telling one of those pompous McKenzie consultants "Three areas you don't want to work in; Tobacco, Asbestos and Lead, so don't pee me off". But we are needed or planes and cars will not start without us!

Mine is not so exciting either - I'm an architectural photographer, but that makes for an awfully long handle!
Shortened and easy to remember; like others have said, I'm on a few forums and like to keep them separate too.

All of my pets have been named after greek or roman mythological entities.

So their names are good to use for handles etc...
