Woolworths backflips - QF points are coming back

You've missed the point. Do you want $100 worth of chocolate? It doesn't matter if it is 100 x $1 chocolate or 1 x $100. if you don't want it, it wasn't a good buy and the QFF points were expensive.
Probably not but that was just one example. No need to spend more than you normally spend but sometimes you make impulse decisions such as buying 29 Chocolate Easter bunnies because they were reduced to $1 each.

But you might be right. I just walked around a small(ish) Woolworths store. There aren't that many orange sticker items. I seem to recall more orange sticker items before Christmas but that was a bigger store. I guess need to compare like for like.

I guess we will wait and see what happens with the proposed changes.

...That's 1,740 QFF points for $100 spend.

...I am prepared to buy QFF points at that price.
I'd rather buy 5,000 Mileage Plus miles for AUD $215 (even with the Pacific Peso). Much better value, I think.

Let's hope (forlornly) that the updated Woollies scheme is a little better than what we see now.

It's actually going to cost me $20 to buy 1,740 QFF points but that's beside the point.

If, and that's a big if right now, you can earn the Woolworths dollars the proposed conversion to QFF points looks to be fantastic value.

$20 WWD/WWpesos/WWrupees to buy 1740 QF FF points, but that would mean searching and buying a lot of items that have the orange stickers or wait for many of the double email offer from WWR.
Though if you are 15% short of a reward, yes, you can buy (top up as on the QF website) QF FF points towards a reward, at $20 for 500.
As we see now, not a lot of items have the orange stickers, as it is.
Wonder what sort of rabbit WW will pull out of its hat later in this new liaison with QF.

But what is cost of the base products?

The chocolate promotion late last year of $0.20 Woolworths dollars for every $1 spent was great.

They had one on cheese at my woollies - $0.30 on every $1 spent. Block of cheese for $10 = $3WW. Even applied to items on sale in the catalogue.

Oh. Forgot about that one. Mum bought some extra cheese that we needed anyway.

Tonight mrsdrron took me to the WW Kalgoorlie before dinner.FirstI must say it is a time warp-both WW and Coles close at 7pm and are closed Sundays. But the WW is huge with many items we have not seen in a WW store before.Things like Russian king crab legs,2 brands of French duck fat,a lot more Asian and imported food lines.
Mrsdrron also says if you are a single woman it is a good place to be picked up-a lot of the shoppers are single men.
I didn't notice any orange stickers though.

You need to check with the Army, they fed me chocolate that was at least 10 years old and possibly as much as 20 years old. ISTR a note from DSTO that the white stuff on the chocolate was totally safe.

In any case, chocolate is not going to last 8 months in my house, nor in my workplace.
What the army feeds you and what you'd choose to eat are hardly the one and the same though! Particularly in hot climates I wouldn't be eating chocolate older than about 6 months, it may not go off but it isn't very nice!

I logged onto the EDR/WWD website today and looked at the FAQs,

It seems that when the email bonus offers come round, they might offer QF points or WW$. This looks to happen prior to the ability to convert 'earned' WW$ to QF later in the year.

I hadn't picked up on this but may well be relevant to others, particularly as a reasonable proportion of my old QF point collection was with email bonus offers with various EDR cards. It should allay some of the concerns about needing to keep balances below $10 on the EDR card.

Obviously depends on the 'conversion rate' of the email offer

After only a few days of hard work and little sleep it tasted pretty darn good. That's the funny thing about circumstances. The best coffee I've every had, still, was instant coffee out of a ration pack boiled up in the dirt.

The cost seems to be reasonable but I'm not an expert on most of these products.

Went to a bigger store the next day and noticed a lot more orange stickers but these appeared to mainly be on Select items.

Unless you get lucky it can take a long time to earn Woolworths dollars. The only saving grace for the program will be the spend offers but as mentioned many times recently these appear to have dried up.

Point taken, but do you still choose to drink instant coffee as your preference (and boil it up via a billy)?

lol.
probably more that I choose not to do the sort of things that make instant coffee taste good when someone tells me to take a break and brew up. ;)

Just a strange set of circumstances that lead to a once in a lifetime experience, that will never happen again.

This was announced when the new WOW-QF deal was signed. Once offers start coming again, they are meant to offer the option of earning QF points or W$.

From early next year, Woolworths Rewards members who are linked to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program will be able to choose to earn bonus Woolworths Dollars or bonus Qantas Points when they receive their email offers. Towards the middle of 2016, Woolworths Rewards members will also be able to get 870 Qantas Points for every $10 Woolworths Dollars they have earned. This will be one of many ways that members will be able to trade in Woolworths Dollars. More details will be announced closer to the launch of the new features.
