View attachment 62439 The latest image of QFF members leaving the Woolworths program, recognise anyone?

From some of the hopeful posts above, perhaps the photo is that of QFF members waiting for WW to reinstate their cough QFF points scheme. Get a rewards CC and shop at Coles. There are better benefits there.

Who cares how the company chooses to architect and promote the rewards scheme. So far I am ludicrously way out in front of the old scheme - I estimate discount levels are effectively 15-20% to me. Even if that halves due to unsustainability I will still be way ahead.

But keep up the myopic criticism - it is probably people like you who are flooding social media with hate mail that are continuing the bonus offers for us canny shoppers!

I agree - Woolworths is a winner with a better range than Coles, ten to 15 times the range of Aldi and high quality Woolworths Select and (not that I buy them often, because the number of items is lower) Gold house brand ranges.

I also won $10 in the 'lottery' so its claims that it is giving away these 'instant wins' is credible.

While I like the fresh fruit and vegetable markets including butchers and fishmongers, Woolworths' meat quality is the best of any of the four supermarket chains.

IGA can also be good as it has many brands not found in the other three but there are not a lot of Supa IGAs in the middle distance and inner Melbourne suburbs, so Woolworths is easier to get to.

I'm finding it harder convincing my wife not to shop at the local IGA .Once, the Qantas points kept her at Woolies but who knows if they will ever return in a form to make them worthwhile.

OTOH Woolies meat is typically a lot pricier than our local IGAs. Yes the quality sometimes takes a hit, but the slow cooker certainly can level the playing field. Albeit not quickly

(For those looking for a WW alternative) Happy wandering

A few here seem to be throwing out the baby.We still will use Woolworths even if no rewards scheme. They do have some items not stocked by Coles that we like and if what we buy is on sale at WW but not Coles seems silly to go for 0.5 cents reward rather than saving a dollar or 2.

For me, at least, it's more the straw that broke the camel's back. We don't buy fresh produce from the supermarket generally (having found that freshness is really not guaranteed and that pricing leaves a lot to be desired) and we have an excellent butcher for meat. The general groceries we do buy have been slowly but surely replaced by Woolworths Select or Woolworths Gold products and I'm just not interested in being forced to buy own-brand goods. I've tried them in the past and hated them so I'm unwilling to try again.

That leaves Aldi (also with the own-brand issues, although at least the ones I've tried are better than the WW ones), Coles or IGA/Superbarn. Coles has a wider range so I'll likely end up there for most things with IGA/Superbarn topping it up.

I don't see it as throwing out the baby with the bathwater so much as WW removing the final incentive I had to shop there.

Yes, there are some things at Woolies that Coles do not have, and I still shop at Woolies for them. But since they made the announcement my shop never exceeded $30 (up to 31/12), and none of those items has had the $W stickers. So the baby is in a different bath, but I still occasionally buy baby lotions from Woolies.

I have no idea what a 'pesos' is in this context (WOW is an Australian company, it does not operate in Mexico), but your comment doesn't make sense in any case. No one is dictating what you buy. You have full choice in the matter.

The best value you can get from the new card is to not use it and wait for the bonus offers of cash back to get you into the store. This is just like the QFF points that they'd throw at you if you hadn't used your card under the old system. But now these enticements are MUCH more generous and instant.

I stand firmly by my earlier considered statement:

"It is working for many people. But some dinosaurs just don't like change - even when its good for them."

Here's a link for you to find out more about WOW dollars (not 'pesos'):

https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Discover/Woolworths-Dollar

But if you did actually mean 'pesos' as in the context of this article about Mexican garlic farmers, that may change everything:

http://ausveg.com.au/media-release/aussie-growers-ask-if-woolies-takes-pesos

WW dollars are so hard to earn on genuine day to day purchase and therefore have a similar value to Pesos.
Compared to when I earn't one QF point for every dollar over $30 spent I now find that I can spend $190 at WW in one shop, and not earn a single Peso or even a decimal, percentage of one.

BTW last time I looked at WW they only had 'fresh' Chinese, not Mexican garlic. Gone from collecting 1000 + QF points per month to crumbs from WW 'rewards'.
If I still had WOW shares I would want out quick. ðŸ

Tried my first Aldi shop last week. All the fresh produce we bought was terrible, won't be doing that again! They have a terrible range of yoghurt, all of which is high calorie stuff. Their oats seem to be giving me a belly ache.

On the plus side, bought a ridiculous amount of salmon and nuts were good prices. So we'll go back there for some things, but definitely not for fresh or dairy.

Will try out the coles next.

Etihad miles and status? Yep much better.

For now I've switched to Coles... its FlyPesos still aren't great value but at least it's some kind of added rewards beyond what's earned on the credit card... always went out of my way to shop at Woolies but the Coles was always more convenient so that decision was made easier.

Considered shopping at Aldi but they (still) don't take AMEX and charge a fee for using Visa/MC... I don't mind paying a reasonable surcharge to use AMEX but any incentive to shop there and not only earn even fewer points by using another card but also paying more for the privilege isn't something that appeals to me.

(Why oh why can't they just take it and charge 1-2%? They already have surcharging in place for Visa/MC so presumably it wouldn't be too hard, even if they built it into the terminal prompts like Caltex does...)

Just back from NZ and annoyed as I did not take my Fly Buys card.
New World supermarkets give points but I didn't know.ðŸ

I don't believe the two programs are compatible. They might have the same name but I don't believe you can collect points from both countries and pool them to the same account.

Im quite confident your correct.
Flybys in New Zealand has completely different livery in its marketing material for starters, along with different partners to Australia.

Flyby's only have a value of 0.5c per $1.00 spent which doesn't translate into being great value, although with the plethora of bonus offers Coles is offering at the moment it's very easy to secure 2c- 3c per $1.00 spent with bonus offers.

With redeeming Flyby's points on webjet, as many people have pointed out before avoid airline redemptions due to Webjet's cash grab in the form of compulsory add on fees that add approx $50- $70 to the booking.

However, when it comes to hotel accommodation, I recently Compared Webjet's pricing to both Expedia & Qantas Hotels and found Webjet's to be the same price, if not cheaper, and after I made a dummy booking, I and soon realised that Webjet does not charge additional fees for hotel bookings, so this appears to be where good value can be extracted when redeeming those flyby's points without paying additional fees.
